I feel so out of my time when all everyone talk about on Facebook is the ending of Walang Hanggan, a local soap. Frankly, I have never watched a single episode of this teleserye or soap so I do not know if it is really good or not. I wonder why even the very educated people are hooked to it. Did I miss anything for not watching it? I just want to know your opinions.

Neither would I. I rarely watch soap operas. Maybe I don't have enough patience to wait for quite some time just to know the ending Maybe it has something to do with the cast of the show 'cause I don't think it's the plot since it's just the usual love stories. But on second thought, maybe it's also the plot. Filipinos are kind of hooked into this type of storyline.

Yeah, it's easy to guess. Usually Pinoy soap only have these ingredients: lots of crying, fighting, two-timing, killing.

I have watched it and actually I don't really like the story because of the violence. But, somehow the story imparted some moral lessons like, we should not be greedy, to much obssession will lead to something bad and in order to succeed one must strive to be able to fulfill his dreams to name few. However, the reason for the phenomenon hit of this series is maybe because ot the stars and since the people has started to view it,they learn to love the story and made them follow the next episodes till the end.

Violence is always part of Pinoy soap so we wonder where all these violence in the real world come from.

I agree with you Cutie and I hope the next time that they will make a series, it would be something that we can really relate and make us grow. Forget about the violence for it will not do any good to all of us.

I've been waiting for someone to post about "walang hanggan" soap.. I haven't watched the soap from Day one but I do know the summary of it. I will not tell you it's story but what I see is that it is much watched by everyone because of Richard and Dawn. During the first weeks or months of the soap, many entertainment writers thought that it will not be a hiot because Coco Martin (Daniel) is in his early 30s while the lead actress "Katarina" is much Younger. I don't know if she is already 18? I don't have much time to watch TV nowadays but if I watch, I see to it that I watch Kapamilya (channel 2) shows. Soap of abs-cbn is MUCH, much better than of Channel 7. Sorry for the fan of the rival network, but thats my point.

I agree with you that TV series of ABS-CBN are better, with very good actors and actresses. It is because they really wanted give good qualities to their shows that their viewers really deserve.

I guess most of the responders here think the same. We are not really interested in watching walang hanggan even though our relatives and friends often talk crazy about it. I think it's the same cliche routine for soap operas. Nothing really special. But only my opinion, I have never watched a single episode of it and never planned to. I have not watched tv shows for a long time, most of the time I would use on the internet and the computer instead or go out of the house to have some fun.

Yes Aja. It must be the same old boring plot. I just saw some snapshots of it, was it the trailer perhaps and I could easily guess what's coming. It is just a waste of time really.

typical soap operas amuse typical people Maybe they just like the actors and the actresses. Ever since I was a child I would always complain about why my mother and my aunties were so addicted with soap operas. Nowadays they are too preoccupied with other things, ending the soap opera addiction finally! -phew- I get amused making fun of how stupid the directing is, or how stupid and dumb the characters are. Where there are clearly easier ways to solve a problem, the protagonist just have to select the worst possible way to solve it.

Walang Hanggan is a teleserye that is about romance, action and strategy. The characters who fell in love with each other before, had a misunderstanding because the mother of the man doesn't like the woman he will marry. The woman in the story is not that rich. They live near the fields and they are just like ordinary people. In the end, they again fell in love to each other and finally they get married. It is a really interesting soap but sometimes it makes me feel bored to watch it because when the story is near to be ending. It seems that the soap is becoming longer and longer.

I love watching it before because I like Dawn and I am a fan of Richard. I love the dresses Dawn wore. Anything else, the story was just like usual soaps in the country. It is full of evil and there are always love triangles

Me too. During breaktime in our office, most of the people around talked about it and I could not contribute anything to their discussion. I didn't watch it at home. When I visited my son and stayed at his house for over a week, I saw a few episodes and learned that it was about to end. So last night when I was already home, I was able to watch the end. That is what I am good at, watching endings of teleseryes.

I never watched it. First, because I haven't been a fan of telenovelas for a loooooong time now. Possibly for a couple of decades now. I just started getting all stressed by it. I get easily affected by what I watch, you see. And secondly, because our TV is predominantly used by our 2-year old daughter, who wants the TV glued to Baby TV or Disney Junior or Nick Jr. channels. Anyway, my mother-in-law tells us that it was good (it ended last night). Luckily for her, my daughter does not watch TV in her room.

You guess it. The stories are almost like the same. I could easily predict the ending. And the acting, oh my gulay, I think there's a lot of bad acting in there.

I don't think you miss something by not watching 'walang hanggan'. I'm not watching myself only my family does. I watched a few episodes months ago but it didn't get me hook. It's so tiring to watch soap operas wherein the theme is always about revenge.

Hi Estre! I thought I was the only one who is not watching this.

yes i agree i think many people watch this show because of the powerful cast like the loveteam of richard and dawn miss susan roces and helen gamboa plus coco martin who is really hot in the philippines right now.

Hi Kabayan! I rarely watch soap operas when everybody in our home watch soap operas. One time, while they are watching the soap opera"Walang Hanggan," it caught my attention while I was having dinner not because of the story but because of the its casting. The truth is I like Dawn Zulueta and Richard Gutierrez. :-) They have good casting that is maybe one of the reasons why everybody is hooked on it. :-) Added a quite suspense love story of Dawn and Richard in this soap opera.

For me, the story is still the most important thing in any soap. It is sad to say that our local soap do not have any interesting plots. They are all the same predictable plots---really a waste of time watching them.

People at home watch it so I caught a few episodes during dinner. For me, meh, I don't see any difference from the hundreds of soap operas already shown before. Of course I did not see the whole program but I did get some of the premise and I don't see what's so special.

I think I saw flashes of it when I went to this beauty parlor. I think that was it---lots of shouting, crying, fighting. I heard there's lots of killing in the end---nice story there.

Same here. I don't watch soap operas mainly because their showing time is also my time to do some work and talk to my hubby on FaceTime. I did hear my folks watching it downstairs and my siblings teasing my dad of being teary eyed.

I have never shed a tear watching local soap drama. Everything is so put on. Even the tears look contrived, and the faces don't change, and there's make-up even when they sleep, etc.
