I have a lot of friends tell me that they think they were born during the wrong time. Some because they're old fashioned and some because they feel they're just modern day hippies. Has anyone else ever thought about this? I think I'm kinda conservative and would probably of fit in better maybe during the Victorian era. If you could live during any period in history when would you choose? Why do you want to live in that time? Is it your personality or just personal interests?

I also had thought of such questions when I confused. The god has its own arrange, there's no choice. But if there's a chance I wish I was not a person, I wish I'm a bird in the sky to see this colorful world and to love those I cherish.

You bring up a very good point. Sometimes I imagine what it would be like if I was an animal too. Either a beautiful cheetah running free in the wild or a cat that sits on someones couch and is adored for doing whatever it feels like.

I think if given a choice I would have loved to live during my Mom's era. She was a teenager in the 60's. That's when music was still good music as opposed to the rap/screaming along to music today. I loved the style of clothes women wore back then & I loved how most men were still gentlemen, holding open doors for women & tipping their hat when they passed by. I seriously think I should have been born during the 50's & 60's. I would have loved it.

My friend tells me that all the time. He kinda acts like a hippie and dresses in a way that expresses himself rather then the social norm. I admire how back then there was so much freedom of expression. It would also be nice to see things like the civil rights movement and how society has changed so much. People back then really made a big difference and greatly impacted the way we live and treat each other today.

Oh my gosh what an excellent discussion! Yes, yes, yes, I have said this many times....I was born during the wrong time. I feel I'm somewhere in between everything. I can't keep up with technology...drives me crazy, but yet, I'm very up to date otherwise. I'm not a hippie but I'm not with the new generation either. So where the heck do I belong?, hahaha! The Victorian era is one of my favorite times..in fact, I collect items from that period. I also buy and sell postcards from that era, which I feel the artwork is just out of this world. Other times, I feel like I belong in the country too, among nature, such as living in a cabin. Who knows, maybe these were other lives we had.

While in some ways technology is meant to improve our quality of living I don't believe it always does. Like yourself I also love Victorian art, beautiful elaborate dresses, and hand crafted items. Most things no a days are mass produced and lose their artistic flare.

I don't know about era, maybe the wrong decade for me, I am often told I look a lot younger than my actual age. And a good portion of my friends are at least 5-10 years younger than I am. They sometimes look at me like I am from a different planet. At least it is cause for a good giggle between us!

Well for me, there is really no such thing as a perfect timing. The only thing that is realistic is how do you react and respond to certain events in your life. Given that you feel you were born during the wrong time, I still do believe that you can still make the most out of your life and become the best person you can be.
