Is Manufacturing Coming Back to America?

This may be just what is needed to get people back on their feet. Manufacturing of goods in America seems like a good idea. I would even say that if other countries wanted Americans to make their goods that might be a good idea as well. I hope that jobs are really there for the future of the American workforce. There is only so much time and so many ways to make this change. After all, with American ingenuity and freedom there should be the workforce to help make things happen.

Personally, I feel that an economy based on consumption is doomed. The only thing that makes it work is substandard products that must constantly be replaced. Manufacturers rely on selling the consumer the "latest" or "newest" of whatever. In reality, all it does is generate a lot of debt for the consumer and pollute our environment with stuff that quickly becomes obsolete.

Well, I think that as Americans we can develop greener ways to do things, and be the leaders in green innovations. This can be a new frontier in manufacturing, consuming, and recycling.

I'm with you on that. It would be wonderful if needs could be met by products and services that didn't damage the environment. However, the greenest car is the one that lasts and doesn't need to be replaced every few years

I agree. As long as there is development to be accomplished, we will always have our work cut out for us.
