It seems like hardly anybody notices how ridiculous Batman sounds. No other super hero had to disguise his voice so why does he feel the need? In fact good old Superman didn't even wear a mask. Also if they really felt the uncontrollable urge to make Batman disguise his voice why in the world did they make him sound like that? If someone came up to me and talked like that I'd die of laughter and walk away. Every time I watch those movies and hear that dreaded voice I just laugh.

He was changing his voice in the comic books too. I guess because Bruce Wayne is really famous so someone could recognize his voice. Here's a funny spoof on his voice: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=w2yv8aT0UFc

First of all ahahahahahahahahaha! Thank you for that I'm going to show that to my friends. Also I'm surprised my friends didn't already know that. A couple of them are kinda into comics. His voice to me kind of sounds silly but if they were trying to stay true to the comics I'm cool with that.

Yes, they make a lot jokes about batman's voice. I find it funny too, but i think it's practical for him to change his voice. See, Bruce is very famous and usually, as batman, he gets to talk to people who already know him. They might recognize him as Bruce if he sounded like Bruce.

As others have stated, Bruce Wayne is pretty recognizable. We should consider ourselves lucky he doesn't come across sounding like Daffy Duck. Kevin Conroy, who has voiced Batman for decades even thinks it's hysterical. A friend sent me this link on the very thing. He thinks Christian Bales voice is TOO MUCH! http://screenrant.com/kevin-conroy-calls-christian-bale-batman-voice-mikee-54681/

Thanks a ton for sharing this discussion. Well yes even i feel strange at times so see why Batman never speaks any word, its like as if he has no voice. I think if a superman like him is daring his life just to save the people during tough times, then he should at least interact with the people and express his emotions. It becomes monotonous at times to see such things. No doubt he wants to hide his identity but the makers should now give it a serious thought regarding this. What say?

Batman is usually very quiet. In the newest Batman series such as the Dark Knight movie he does talk a little though. He makes this silly fake voice. Maybe that's why Batman keeps his mouth shut so often. Lol

Gotham City is just a small city and Bruce Wayne is the most eligible bachelor in town, he's a playboy, he's famous, he's powerful and everyone knows Bruce Wayne that's why he has to modulate his voice so that no one recognizes him.
