what is this movie about? I have asked my dad about it and he said that it was not a good movie, and the ratings are bad. 
i wanted to watch it though, since i like the actors in it, i have seen some of their movies. And i love sci fi too- anyone think this is also a good movie?

yeah..the storyline can be very draggy and boring..but actually its a good film..especially if u have seen the original tron back in the 80s.. if u have seen the original tron recently..its look like a joke.

first one gonna be worst for u if u see it..painfully awful if compares with todays hi-tech movies.. Part 2 excellent in special fx but poorly executed acting..and story moves too slow for their sake. but still a visual feast..especially who have 3D tv at home like moi..

Tron Legacy is a sequel to the original movie Tron made in 1982. The first one was absolutely terrible. They even made a joke on The Simpsons about it. Chief Wiggams asked if anyone had seen the movie Tron and everyone got quiet. In the first movie a software developer gets stuck inside a computer somehow. The special effects look really corny. The second movie was about his son trying to find him. Your father is right both of those movies are awful.

its not "absolutely terrible" -- if u seen it in 1982(Tron was the first film in the world to use computer to do extensive special effects)..there was nothing to compare or even comes close to it back then..even the oscar cant nominate them..because theyre unsure of the eligiblity of special fx using computers which was in it infancy at that time..
ofcourse if u see it today..or after 1989(The Abyss by James cameron..was the first film to use CGI animation)..it will look absolutely terrible and looks like a joke..

TRON is an incredible movie ..the worlds first movie to use the computer to creste special effects knwon today as CGI's back in 1982..
TRON LEGACY is its sequel..after two decade..when his son is all grown up and looking for the heck is his dad dissapeared to...
this is a great film..the only bad rating is because this film promised so much in its 3D and iMax but poorly delivered..the 3D in the cinema is nothing to wow' about..the iMax too ..not the best.. so ,many expectation on the 3d side of things .dissapoints the press people and critics..
but 3D at home ..is totally diferent expreience..where the deptness of the near and far objects is more visible at home than in the cinemas..

The only thing nice about Tron:Legacy is the CGI and the special effects. That is absolutely incredible but where the story line is concerned, I find myself yawning throughout the movie. The plot is so cliche and not unique at all and so very predictable.
