Our office was located between two nearby malls. So every time we wanted to buy something,we could go during lunch break to look for it and buy.Sometimes,if we wanted to go our lunch, we will just decide which mall to go. Every time I go out alone during lunch to buy something or attend the mass,I just usually walk since it is quite near for me,but you can also ride a fx or cab if you want. When we are going out with some colleagues during lunch, they prefer to ride since the fare is cheap but I always encourage them to just walk. They feel lazy to walk and climb stairs in the overpass, but I still insist to we just walk especially when the weather is fine and the traffic is so terrible. But when its raining, well better to ride to avoid getting wet. Its is better to walk than to ride for me.Even though the fare is cheap, walking is better, you could save your fare and at the same time could exercise somehow.

I am like you, if I can I prefer to walk. The train station is near enough to our place but most people would either take a jeep ey or a tricycle to get there. But for me, if the weather is okay, I just walk to and from it. And yes I feel good that I got to save some coins and got to exercise my feet and legs too.

I also did that when I was in Elementary school. I think some kids still walk going to that school now but the son of my cousin also going to that school rides a tricycle driven by his grandfather. I think it was more dangerous now though because when I was a kid, the road was not yet cemented, unlike now, so vehicles run faster than when it was just dirt road.

I agree it is better to walk than to ride. I always walk if I can or if its a bit further I go on my bike. Its quicker and cheaper and so much more better for you

Yeah quickers and cheaper especially when the traffic is so terrible. Biking is a great idea and so accessible. Biking is one of the thing that I really misses to do.

If the distance isn't too far walking is much better than riding in a bus, tram or taxi. Walking at a medium to fast pace is healthy exercise. Climbing stairs is good exercise as well. When I was 18 to 20 years old I worked in an office in London. Some lunch times I enjoyed walking to Tower Bridge and I sat outside the Tower of London eating my packed lunch. I liked cycling to the schools I taught at in Kent. I cycled twelve miles a day and it was excellent exercise. It kept my body fit and healthy.

Yeah walking a great form of exercise that is not so hard to do. I like cycling too and this is what I really misses.Since I had work, I never find time to do cycling again even in such short destination.I hope I could get back to it again and enjoy it.

Of course it is better to walk than ride especially when the weather is welcoming and not full of elements like rain, hail or snow. One of the reasons that your co-workers might want to ride instead is because it is quicker to get there. If your lunch time is limited you will be able to eat and possibly do a little shopping during that time. Walking will take more time away from all of you so you have to eat quicker and always rush to make sure you have time to get back on time. It may be more relaxing to ride and enjoy lunch without having to hike over to the mall and come back sweaty from the walk. If you all split the fee it might be worth it to ride half the time and walk the other half. This way everyone is happy and you also benefit from the exercise too. It is a toss up!

Well we have an hour to an hour and half break time so we really have enough time to eat.Usually if eating out, we just walk going to the place then ride going back, but if we are just wanted to go out and buy or look something in the mall, we prefer to walk back and forth.

I agree with you. Actually if I am your officemate, I think I will be walking with you. . It is also a way of simple exercise and can save money, right? So I think it is better to be alone than to be with your colleagues. You won't be having your own freedom to choose. lol

We I guess I am convincing cause most of the time they join me walking especially if the weather is fine. But there is always one who is quite lazy in walking that used to ride and even just stay in the office and we take out food for her.

Financial and health benefit at the same time. Two birds in one shot as they says. If biking is possible, I would like to ride in a bike which I really misses to do.

Hi ardoy! Given the same situation, I would also do the same. When I was assigned in the regional office which is a few blocks away from our, home I would always walk to and from the office to save the amount I have to pay for the fare for some other important things.

Well saving the money for the fare would be the most important benefit of it and exercise as well.I really enjoy walking and seeing different people in the streets that are walking too.
