Thank you for this discussion. But leaders must have an ability to influence people. Generally speaking, extraverts can influence more people, so that people can work together for one thing. But of course, only outgoing personality is not enough. The leader must have strong global concept and can ability of organization.

It actually depends on how an extravert or introvert person handle such responsibility. Furthermore, we all have different leadership style so it's not appropriate to judge solely based on the person's temperament on that matter, though it is also included in the factors.

Hi jona! When we say leader, it means that he is a person who can influence people. So it doesn't mean that an introvert cannot be a leader. As long as we can be able to guide others in a certain situation and direct others to accomplish their work, we can be a leader. Actually, everyone of us a has a leadership quality in us that we just have to develop. have a nice day!

We can't measure how great a leader is. Not all great leaders are extroverts. We have Barack Obama as the best example of an introvert leader. John Heilmann, chronicler of the Obama presidency said that Barack is distant, aloof, and concealed. We may not always hear what's on the mind of an introvert but he or she is also a person acting for the best of the group and for the best of all. There might be a mystery in introverts but they are just like extroverts. The only difference is that introverts doesn't want to be surrounded by the crowd 24/7. They are comfortable being surrounded by their family and close friends. We can say that a leader is great if and only if he or she can gracefully handle the situation that will bring goodness to the people he or she has sovereign with.

Leaders are not always the extrocerts. And if the introcerts can keep the quality needed to be a leader, that is also possible to be a leader. I think a leader needs to be a person carrying the following personalities and qualities such as ability to manage the whole team, being responsible and self-disciplined. If the introvert carries the qualities above I think he or she is also competent... But in the real situation, the leader needs to allocated the work and check for every member and the extroverts may seems to better in dealing with these kinds of affairs, contributing to their good communicating ability. So, though the extroverts occupy a big part, but the introverts can not give up. Trying to improving yourself to a better stage will increse your rate!

Introverts are people who are shy and rarely communicate with other people on their own unless somebody ask them to do so or it is required by them. I'm not saying that they are poor leaders but they have difficulty reaching out to others initially on their own. Extroverts are more outgoing and are not shy when it comes to dealing with other people but it also does not mean that they make good leaders. Being a good leader requires a lot a positive traits that followers may take it as an example and follow them then apply it on their own.

Introverts and Extraverts can be a good leader but in a different way. I don't believe extravert can be better leaders than introvert. Extravert and introvert are another types of personality which people possess and either of the two can be a better leaders. If you want, you can read the book of "Please understand me" by David Keirsey. The book is so wonderful. The book has lot of information about different personality and character of each person.
