Finally published it

It took a year but I'm finally going to see my book published. I can order some copies of it on Friday. Publish America is the publisher and they provided the illustrations for free and printed and published it for free but now comes the hard part, promoting and advertising and selling it. It's a children's story about a little girl and her dog who are little detectives and became local heroes. I hope it goes well. I have a lot of promotional work ahead of me unless I pay Publish America for promotional services.

Congrats, that is great... I have a some questions though, you said you went through a publisher,Publisher America" yet they don't promote your book as well? I thought all publishers promote the books they publish. Or is this an actual self-publishing, where you use Publisher America to get your book published, but you have to edit and promote your work?

Oh! They will do promotion but I would have to pay for the service so I will try to do promotion and selling some books myself. Maybe set up some book signing at a library or bookstore and so on. Thanks for your interest!

You are actually getting your own book published. That is great you know and I hope that I can publish my own books too someday. Based on what you said, it is pretty obvious that you wrote a story book for children. The most important thing in writing would be writing something which suits the taste of your reader. Because meeting their taste would mean more readers and buyers to your book. Be it academic, fictional or comic.

I wish you the best in whatever sort of written work you desire to have published.

Thanks Jen, for your encouragement and support. I'll let you know how it goes with promoting and so on. I've recruited a couple people to help with that.

Good for you. I tried to find a publisher for my book but they ask for a payment and that excludes the payment for promoting the book. So instead on making it as a hard copy, I did my book online and try to give the first few chapters are free. You can try going to bookstore or sell it online. Try the site wattpad or smashwords as you can promote your book there.

Congratulations! Children's books are a great market! I am working on a historical fiction based in Civil war torn Fredericksburg, VA. Did you have to pay anything?
