Getting Greedy

A couple days ago, I came to the library and got on my laptop, this guy I know came up to me and wanted me to give him my library card number. I did tell security and they told him to stay away and never ask anyone for their library card number again and that if he was caught taking more than 2 sessions he will be arrested and banned from every library in Chicago. People have no right to come up to anyone in the library to ask to use your cord or anything else that does not belong to them! I know this guy has his own card! Why get yourself banned with jailtime just becasue you want to spend the entire day online stealing other people's library card numbersfor your illegal use!

i wasn't really thinking that he would be using my card illegally but what i was thinking was that he would be stealing (and selling?) books that i would end up paying for! i seldom go the main branch of our city's library. i order books online and get them sent to my local library and now that i have a tablet, i will be ordering books electronically, but it is a good discussion because you have to be so careful in everything you do these days, even when you are going to the library!

Some people either think that they are above the law/rules or figure its ok to go find a loop hole and expose it.. I do not understand why someone would come up and ask for personal information like that, especailly nowadays with the major problem of identity thief.. Some people do not practice long term thinking; if I do this, here are the possibilites for the future.. Will they be good or bad?? Can I live with the conquesense? Like I have said in the past commonsense is not general knowledge; it use to be.. But long gone... So many things are instant; I guess it can be easy to over look the future.. Just not something I am trying to do... Jailtime for a couple extra mintues or hours on a public computer to use the internet...Crazy
