BBQ in the oven

I just made some homemade BBQ in my oven in my apartment. Yes everything in my apartment smell like a BBQ outlet now, but it tastes great. I was thinking that just baking the chicken with BBQ sauce will only give me something like BBQ, it will have no char. So what I did was to was to pan sear the chicken pieces until it was just a little darker than golden brown(its not KFC) then placed the pieces in a dish with the store bought BBQ sauce covered it with and baked it for 30 minutes. It came out great.I might sell!!!:)If someone out there has any great BBQ sauce recipes I am all ears.Just have to figure out what the side order will be...
