Hi everyone, I am a first-year PhD student who major in physical therapy. It is my second month staying in the lab. I am the only first-year student in my lab and other senior students and post-doc researchers seem don't show up very frequently. So basically, I am the only one who stays in our lab. (My supervisor sits in the next office, but she is quite busy and not stay in her office all day) It's very good. I mean, I can do everything I want to do in the lab and I can use resource without sharing with other students. However, sometimes I feel that I need peers to cheer me up when I encounter obstacles. You know, when you have a hard time, if there is someone who has the same situation with you, he or she can understand your feeling, you will feel better. That's what I want to need. Also, I go abroad to study PhD. Living in a totally new city and country is a hard and difficult thing. I have to get used to many things, like weather, food, language...and so on. I know I will get used to the life here, and I like this city and country where I am so far. However, sometimes I miss my hometown and my family, my friends who speak the same language and have the same culture with me. I want someone to comfort me when I am upset with my study. I want someone to listen to me when I am tired of my endless reading and research job as well. Anyway, I just want to find someone who is studying PhD as well. We can cheer up each other or share some thoughts about PhD life. I enjoying doing research job and I want to be a great researcher in my future so that's why I decided to pursue PhD degree.
