Samurai or ninja?

Just a random thought, who would win in a fight: Samurai or a ninja? I think the samurai would win because of his sword skills. What do you guys think?

I really can't tell. I mean, based on animes I have watched, since it's the only basis for me regarding this topic, both really have their own strengths and weaknesses, so in the end it all depends just how good they are with their skills. Normally, I would choose ninja because for me they are just cooler than samurais but, Kenshin Himura, the batousai is just as cool as most anime ninjas I know.

Haha, that's true. Then again, i suppose it depends on the environment. E.g. A samurai would be best in a closed room whereas a ninja would be good if his movement wasn't restricted.

Well, the environment couldn't really be a problem if both are good, right? It's just a matter of technique, I guess. I would imagine that both would do good in any environment placed.

Yes a samurai was a well trained warrior and ninja was a great assasin.But the best warriors were shinobi.

A ninjas fighting skills were developed specifically to defeat samurai, which is not to say that in a straight fight that the samurai would not win but rather that the ninja would not engage in such all the best urban

It would really depend on the situation, let say if samurai went to war with the ninja the samurai would win. Ninjas usually lived in small numbers and in secret locations so all they had was the element of surprise. Without the surprise factor well let just say they don't stand a chance against an army of samurai.

I will chose ninjas as they have higher speed than samurai and their dangerous weapons...

But what if its a small room and the ninja's manouverability is limited?
