Yesterday someone posted a discussion regarding the racist remarks Seinfeld star Michael Richards made. I was outraged and offended that he blatently used the N word to insult some hecklers. Not only did he use a nasty word, he made comments about blacks being lynched. I was surprised yesterday at the ignorance of some of our myLot users. People made comments saying that it was no big deal and that they got what they deserved. It was very much a big deal. If you are not african american you would not even begin to understand the magnitude of his comments. Being heckeld at a comedy show is an every day occurance. It can save a comedian sometimes especially if their show is dull. some comedians set up hecklers in the audience to make the show more interesting. He could not handle it like a REAL comedian would and decided to 'come out of the closet'. I would really like to hear some views from other African Americans. So far since the incident has happened no black actor or actress has stepped forward. Not even Oprah! I can understand people not coming forward and making comments because it is a very volitile issue. and people don't want to blow it up into a huge controversy. But I do know one thing, I have seen just about EVERY episode of Seinfeld and I will NEVER watch that show again! Please post your views about this. I would like some support. I felt like I was defending my whole race yesterday because I did not see one comment from another black person or even minority. All non african americans feel free to voice your views also. Try to keep it clean because yesterday I got a upset and lashed out and I believe myLot deleted the discussion because I do not see it posted today.
