making money writing online

I am a relatively new writer and am in the process of trying to earn money online by writing and with no qualifications to help me along I have found this quite difficult as there are many scams and very low paying jobs trying to dupe me for my hard work and precious time. Will I ever be successful? I do not no and am starting to think this is just a big waste of my time but at the same time this is something I would really love to do as a career as I really enjoy the things that I have been doing.
