A question about the movie Les Misérables

It is a musical, as it was also a musical when it first appeared on Broadway.

Les Miserables is one of my all time favorite novel... and when i saw the trailer of the upcoming movie/musical... i was so excited... to top it off... Anne Hathaway is Fantine... I would surely watch this movie... and even buy a DVD if it is really really good... not like what they did to the Count of Monte Cristo... the movie butchered the orignal story... i hope that is not the case with Les Miserables...

Every production such as a play or whatever to best of my knowledge has always been a musical. I think that it was very successful on Broadway as a musical a long time ago. I know that when I went to the Bahamas to Club Med Resort around 1988, they put on one scene from it and it was a musical with a cast of probably college age people who may or may not have gone on to careers in the arts. It was well done and good and is the only thing from the show(book) that I have experienced.

Why not. they are enjoyable movies.. Like Moulin Rougue, it does have a few songs, but they do not sing everything in it. The story is really nice, and the cast is great, so the singing should not stop you from watching this movie.

ive seen the last remake of Les Miserable..with Liam neeson ..if im not mistaken..was really good..

I think that it is based on the stage musical version which has been very successful in London and New York. You might like it and if you do not se it you will never know!

It is going to be a musical, as it is based on the musical version of the novel itself. Well, everybody's tastes are different. I'd love to see it as a musical, because the music for this musical is phenomenal :).

i remember i was in high school when our teacher asked us to read the novel "les Miserables". i really loved the book and i haven't really watched any musical or movie related to the said masterpiece. i'm really excited for this movie and i heard the actors sung their songs live on the set. i guess that's something to look forward to.
