Diwali has already started so I am really late but Happy Diwali anyway. I myself do not celebrate Diwali but I have friends that do. Diwali is based on my limited knowledge is the festival of light and for so Indians this time of the year is their New Year. Where I live there is a strong Indian community and frankly I get jealous sometimes I mean the Indian culture is so rich I wish that I could be Indian. As a kid I remember watching Bollywood movies particularly the ones with Shahrukh Khan in them, I had watched them so often that I could sing the words to the songs. On a side note even though I know that Shahrukh Khan is an older guy I have to say that the man SEXY. My favorite song was Kuch Kuch Hota Hai, I'm pretty sure if I were to pop the movie in right now that had the song I would be able to sing it. Another thing that I love about the Indian culture is Bhangra, I have always wanted to learn how to do it it looks like so much fun. To everyone reading this post that is current celebrating I would like to wish you a Happy Diwali. So mylotters do you have a different culture that you have wished you were part of apart from you own?

hi new, I love Indian culture if there is one thing I don't like is the ARRANGE MARRIAGE thing (no offense meant) and of course those unusual beliefs they had. I have many Indian friends but sadly we don't given a chance to celebrate Diwali with them. In year 2010 I experienced Diwali at the temple and it was cool. happy mylotting

Yeah I agree that some parts are not so fun especially the arranged marriage. I also have not been able to attend any Diwali celebrations because they last to long and I would have way to much work to catch up on if I got home at eleven every night for five days straight
