Pondering the apparently 27-mile backup on the freeway outside Boston right now, & I was wondering-- How would you & your usual passenger(s) keep each other entertained if you were stuck in that? Do traffic jams make you cranky? What would you do? I am guessing most of you would do something with a little invention called the phone, but what exactly? Or if you don't have a phone, what else could you think of doing?

Yes of course especially when I left the house early and yet still caught with the traffic jam.... grrrrrr such grrrrr.. I sleep. Most of the time I sleep so I won't stres myself from thinking of being late and what my boss will tell me that I am late, and why am I late. I dont talk on the phone because I know people during that time are busy to on the way to work. So i keep silent sometimes I write what to do and or an outline of what I will do for my next lessons.

Yes that would be a big bummer, trying to start the day early and then something happens to interfere. That would tick me off as well, but we have to try to make the best of things sometimes and do what we can. I know you are smart enough not to talk on your phone then, you are right the others might be on the other roads and they shouldn't be talking on their phones either.

haha! Don't worry, there is nothing 'untoward' in the video. I hope you are not disappointed.

I shudder to think what that video is about.

Where I live, there's no running away from getting stuck in traffic especially when it rains and when there's been an accident on the road. What I would normally do is just to listen to the radio and if I have passengers with me, they'd just be talking about the day with me. I would never use my cellphone even in a traffic jam.

Good for you not using your cell phone even in a traffic jam. That is normally not good to do, but if you are not moving I guess it would be OK for a few. I don't even have a cell phone. You have the right idea about it though, listening to the radio and talking to your passengers about their day. It's just something we would do years ago anyways if no one had cell phones.

Traffic jam and entertainment? Never heard of it! Impatience is my middle name and all what I can display is my restlessness casting evil eyes on my watch which is what my watch must have felt the number of times I look at it!

Ha, that sounds like my dad. He is so impatient on the roads. he can't wait for anything and he either has to take a detour when no one else is doing that or just steam in frustration. My mom and him get into big arguements even in their 70's for that.
