I want to know that what are the things that you are going to consider before selecting a site to construct your home at. I will prefer a place which will be near to a good market where I can get all the things at a good reasonable rate. I want my home to be connected with the transportation facilities. I want all the bank and entertainment facilities near to my home. That is all I need near to my home, beside that the place to construct my home should have a good access to the sun rays all the day. The site should be free from the water, that means it should not have pot holes or streams passing over it. The earth surface should be compact and strong enough to support my building. What are the things that you will consider for your home?

I prefer a house built on a farm site where I can be away from the pollution of city life. Farm place is I guess my best choice because it is far more calm than that of the busy places.

If I have a lot of space then I can think of making farms of it and yes I agree that even if the farms are not mine, I will have a lot of peace to live there. I also prefer a peaceful place and these days cities are also peaceful because there a number of laws to prevent the noise pollution.

Peaceful place are the ones we are all dreaming to live. Those who are living in cities that are clean secured, they are blessed second to those who are in the farmlands where pollution is diffidently less. Just my opinion.

That is a good choice, because everyone fears from the anger of the nature, and I also might have felt the same way if I lived in such places. It also occurred in the coastal area of the India. It was very much hazardous. I hope it never happens again.

I want the opposite of you! I want some land so I can raise chickens for eggs and grow all my own food. That way I will not need a market to go to! But I want well water and not the water that people have messed up with all their chemicals either!

That needs labor for doing all the stuff because you can not do the farming and all other works to make yourself independent from the market. You will end up creating a new organisation for yourself.

I think we have the same choice of a home site, I started this discussion because I hope to build a home of my own. By the way what is the estimated cost build a home at your place? It should be at least a three room home with all other necessities.

Thanks for sharing in details. I have renovated rather remade 2 houses, both 3 storey high after complete demolition of paternal homes. They are on hard soil, the foundation are enough to support 3 more storeys

That is a good work, the most important part of a structure is its sub-structure or foundation. If it is strong then I am tension free. You saved the land, and the money which you might had to spend on the new land for the home.

I would like to be in the suburbs, but close to shopping. I prefer the country so I can have a horse or two. I want to have gardens, so a couple of acres are ideal. There should be shade and sun. There will have to be enough room for a garage, a barn and a house. The driveway should be short, because I don't like to shovel a lot of snow. I want to be close to town, so I can walk or ride my horse to the store. There is always hope.

Wow! I will be happy to spent my holidays at your home if you invite me there. I will bring some new surprises for you, which I don't know what they are right now. I don't know the horse riding so I would love to learn it there. Please invite me sometimes and if I have time and money I will come for sure. Thank you.

Having a good access to some rays is the first and foremost thing I consider. I would like to choose the site near the park so that I can have a place to breath fresh air or jogging. Transportation must be convenient. I would also like my house in the center of the city so I can see the crowd everyday. I will not be lonely anymore.

I know, sometimes it feels good when there is a crowd around you but for everyday life I will chose some other option. I will built some commercial building in the city and build a home a little far from it. Also I can build a guest room in the city or a hotel for night stay. If I have my loved ones around me then I will not feel lonely anywhere.
