Yes, it is biblically written that tongue is a powerful tool that can create or break any body. We have to be very careful on how we use it. Bear in mind, we often see other people as they make mistakes with the use of their tongues on how they talk to others but we rarely see our own mistakes. Words are powerful and tongues create and speak this out..WE all have to be careful.

I cannot agree with you more about this tongue. Sometimes we just took our words granted before speaking itou, but after that, it may hurt someone deeply in emotion. As to me, I am so impulsive that i always do some unaccepted behavior or words. In my mind, my doings are full of kindness, but someone may draw a different conclusion, which may bring her a bad feeling.

Yes I agree. In fact even the Bible has warned us several times about tongue. Here are the verses in Bible to reckon with: James 3:6-10 - "And the tongue is a fire, a world of unrighteousness. The tongue is set among our members, staining the whole body, setting on fire the entire course of life, and set on fire by hell. For every kind of beast and bird, of reptile and sea creature, can be tamed and has been tamed by mankind, but no human being can tame the tongue. It is a restless evil, full of deadly poison. With it we bless our Lord and Father, and with it we curse people who are made in the likeness of God. From the same mouth come blessing and cursing. My brothers, these things ought not to be so." So we ought to be careful when we open or mouth. This tongue is so little but it could be really deadly. Remember whoever restrains his words has knowledge, and he who has a cool spirit is a man of understanding. God bless everyone.

James 3:2-10 For we all stumble in many ways. And if anyone does not stumble in what he says, he is a perfect man, able also to bridle his whole body. If we put bits into the mouths of horses so that they obey us, we guide their whole bodies as well. Look at the ships also: though they are so large and are driven by strong winds, they are guided by a very small rudder wherever the will of the pilot directs. So also the tongue is a small member, yet it boasts of great things. How great a forest is set ablaze by such a small fire! And the tongue is a fire, a world of unrighteousness. The tongue is set among our members, staining the whole body, setting on fire the entire course of life, and set on fire by hell. ...

I definitely agree. Tongue is a restless evil. With our tongues, we bless and we curse. This should not be. And the truth is we cannot tame our tongues. The thing is one should think many times before one is going to say it. Thanks for this discussion. God Bless

Yes what you said is right tongue is sharp knife to kill the persons without a single drop of blood, unfortunately unknowingly we hurt some people with our words, after knowing this we too hurt for saying those words. A word ones said will never come back like a targeted arrow from Bow one must be careful to what they speak, especially while speaking with dear one's we must be careful otherwise we may lose the relation with that person. Emotionally spoken words causes lot of damage, so try to avoid speaking when you are in negative emotion, this will helps a lot.

some people may not see the tongue as a weapon but it can do as much harm if not more than any other weapon could, cutting words can not be taken taken back. once they are said they are out there.

Thanks a ton for sharing this discussion. Well yes i completely support this quote as tongue is that weapon that can tear apart anything without causing any violence. With our strong words we can state our views that might be a landmark or might be very much important. We can hurt someone very much by our words and at the same time we can get someone very closer with those words. So we have to use this weapon very carefully. What say?

I'm sure that everyone who reads this will have a story to tell about the pain of an unkind word. I remember when I was going through the teen-age years and I had a few spots on my face. One of the girls in the class called me 'spotty face' and when I winced she replied 'the truth hurts'. I have never forgotten those words, in fact I hate to hear them and would never utter them to anyone else myself. I'm happy to say that the spots disappeared and I got a nice skin and no scars - except of course the one inflicted by that unkind tongue.
