"Know it all"

I have a "know-it-all" kind of friend. He's smart, but sometimes i get so annoyed when he acts as if he's the only smart person in the world & we his friends know nothing about everything. He would really argue with some friends & convince us that he's right. Lol We just ignore him when he's being like that anyway. I just roll my eyes & let go. Haha! It makes me laugh everytime I think about him talking that way though. How about you? Do you have a know-it-all friend?

I have an ex sister in law that way. Also what ever I do, she says she has done it many time. Even if she has not. I also hate people like that.

That's really funny. Specially when you know the truth. I think people like that weren't given so much attention when they were younger.

Hi, I have a know-it-all classmate, too. I already started a discussion regarding this. Leaving them in their way is the way I use to escape from those kinds of people.

Yes that's true. We just leave them alone & nobody gets affected. Lol

Know-it-all friends are a bit of a pain, so I must congratulate you on not taking that person too seriously. He obviously takes himself very seriously already and as a good friend you are putting a little humour back into life. Perhaps you can discover something he knows nothing about and then tease him until he gets the point. That might put the friendship at risk however.

That's right, nobody knows everything and being self-sufficient is awful. But I dislike more the false modesty, people who try to humbly pointing out how smart they are. "Not that I know a lot about this subject, or that I'm even interested in, so excuse my lack of information, but....". And after but comes an entire smart speech. So, I prefer the honesty of the people who know that they are smart and are not afraid to show it.

Your right. There's always a good way of sharing your ideas.

I know some people who have this kind of personality, and honestly I sometimes admire them. Admire them in a sense that they can persuade others to be motivated. The downside is that, sometimes they may underestimate you. As a result, your self-esteem gets low.

And they will not be aware of the negative effects of their behavior to some people's lives since it's already a part of their personality.=)

Yes, I definitely know some people like that. They are not close friends or anything, more like friends of friends or people I work with, so I can pretty much ignore them when they behave like this, which is a good thing in this case. I find a know it all attitude to be really annoying, we can all use being humble from time to time after all :)

Exactly! I really appreciate humble people. Why can't they just keep it to themselves, stop blabbing about a lot of stuff and humble themselves.

Some people are just so confident saying humbug things. As if it is so natural for them , they don't mind how they sounded . If i encounter people like this , i just let the person express himself , won't mind interfering or opposing . Some people are so happy being as such , so let them be , why hinder them that little happiness.

Yes, I do have a friend that thinks he knows everything. There just happens to be people who are not that modest. Although it's good to be confident, there are just some people who take it too far. Some people think differently and believe everything they say should be highly regarded among other people.

Fortunately I don't have a friend like that or else we are always fighting. But...I have a brother like that haha. My older brothers and cousins called him Attorney because he is smart really but I don't like him when he acts like he knows everything in the world and like all of my cousins don't know anything. He had lots of experience yes but like you I get so annoyed when people act like they know everything. So I always argue with my brother and I told him you don't know everything so stop acting like that hahaha!. Good thing he don't want to have a fight with me so he said ok fine!.

It's good to know that he doesn't fight with you everytime you tell him to stop acting like that.
