For awhile now, I have had a craving for ice cream. Being tight on funds, I came up with a marvelous idea to go to Cold Stone Creamery to use my gift cards that I have had for about the past two years. Can you tell that I am the occassional ice cream eater. I do not buy it that often. Even when I buy it at the grocery store it takes me awhile to finish it. I do love Cold Stream Creamery's Ice Cream! My old apartment used to be close by to a Cold Stone Creamery and I would indulge in purchasing some to take home a couple times a year. Since moving, I have been to lazy to go searching for the nearest Cold Stone Creamery location. I had recalled from a few months ago when I had broken my glasses that there was a Cold Stone Creamery in the Biltmore Shopping Center. I did not know where I just recall that I had seens a sign point this way to Cold Stone Creamery. Today, I decide to go in search of it; even though, I knew that parking was going to be a nightmare. Well, it took awhile to find a parking spot. Then, I went walking to try to locate it. I figured it would be a nice walk as it was a beautiful warm December day. I found the store after a short walk. When I walked into the store, I was a little overwhelmed by all the choices. I was not sure what I wanted to get. It all sounded so good! If you have not been to a Cold Stone Creamery Store before the way it selected is that you can choose any flavor ice cream then have them mix in add-ins (ice cream topping and mixings). For the first one, I choose for them to mix together two flavors of sorbet. I really loved the taste of the Raspberry sorbet and the lemon sorbet had a mellow but delightful flavor that I thought would compliment the raspberry sorbet. Even though I was not entirely sure about Dark Chocolate Peppermint ice cream, I could not resist the sound of Dark Chocolate. So I figured, I would try a smaller size container of that one. At the last minute, I decide to add cookie dough pieces to it. Well, I was very good when I got home. I was really hungry seeing as I had not had lunch before running my errand. I could have eaten it all right then. Instead I had a tiny taste of each as I was taking the ice cream out of the paper bag to put them in the freezer. I even waited until after dinner to eat desert. Then, I finally indulged. I had two small scoops of the Dark Chocolate Peppermint Cookie Dough ice cream and you larger scoops of the Raspberry / Lemon Sorbet. I put it all in the same bowl. Wow! The flavor combinations where oh so amazing together. I cannot decide what tasted better the dark chocolate peppermint cookie dough or the raspberry lemon sorbet. All I know was it was an incredibly delicious desert that was so satisfying. Do you ever notice that the more flavorful combinations of a dish that a little bit of it tends to satisfy your tastebuds? What are you delicable ice cream creation of flavors that you would create?

I also crave for ice cream sometimes I just like some vanilla flavor, then I also like the ube flavor.I do not prepare mixed flavors because I just like one flavored ice cream. Here in the Philippines, there are a lot of vendor or sidewalk vendors selling ice creams ans other street foods. That is the only time I could buy an ice cream mixed flavors, yet frequently I buy mostly mango flavored ones. There are plenty of good brands of ice creams here like Magnolia,Big Scoop,Selecta,Nestle,Arce,Haag, and other brands.Sometimes I make my own ice cream at home, when I have plenty of time to make one, because making an ice cream tends to have plenty of time,so that the mixing of the ingredients would be perfect when we try to consume it.It is really fun making some ice cream, especially during these times of hot weather conditions. It surely would be perfect to make our feelings be refresh.

Mango ice cream sounds good. It must be so nice to walk and get some ice cream. When I went to the store, I was surpised to see people at the little tables outside eating ice cream with their dogs on leashes. How do you make your ice cream? I have seen it made either with shaking in plastic ziplock bags and seen it made by rolling coffee cans filled with ice. So, I am really interested to hear about your ice cream recipe. Can you share it? It would definitely be cheaper to make you own ice cream. The prices of it seem to be skyrocketing with them shrinking the size of the ice cream tubs especially at the grocery store. When does it cool down there in the Phillipeans? Most place here in the states are getting chilly with winter temperatures, yet here in Arizona we are still basking in the warmth of 70 degree temperatures. That is pretty normal for us. If it gets cold here for winter time, it is more like a surprise than the norm. Generally, it is just a cold front that will only last a couple weeks at the most; then temperatures begin to warm right back up. You never know a couple years ago in December we had super fridged temperatures for New Year's. I remember it because it was freezing cold weather for moving. A couple people said they even spotted snow flurries in Phoenix, I did not see the snow, and of course it melted the second it touch the ground.

Most manufactured ice cream are made from powder milk, yet evaporated is much more delicious when done into home made ice cream. You can also do much more delicious ice cream when you use coconut milk because the result is much creamier ice cream. You can try it and I know you will never regret upon having it in your table.

Oh my the weather sounds terrible there. We hardly ever get rain here but when we get bad moonsoon storms it will flood out washes. I cannot imagine the type of flooding issues that you are experience there. I agree heat and humidity are just a totally terrible combination. In the summer he ere we get 100+ temperatures. if it rained the night before, we will suffer the next day with hot and muggy weather. We definitely do not have the severe type of humidity that you are describing. I hope that the weather conditions will improve soon in your country. That sounds like a yummy recipe. I never thought to use Evaporated milk for making ice cream. I think I will have to keep an eye out for a good price on an ice cream maker. With the prices of everything skyrocketing it getting to the point where it cheaper to cook things from scratch.

hi aireanna I would freeze milk with sugar and after a while when it is still soft, I will take it out and mince it. After a while of whipping, it turns softer and kind of flowing. Once I get it to that stage, I will pour it over anything which suites my fancy at that moment. And I have even tried it over cooked vegetables (the ones which are left over after the lunch) and that salty, sugarry taste too seems appealing at times. but I prefer this flowing soft ice cream served over fruit salad. Nothing beats that. Not even the ones they serve at the hotels. needless to say, I am an ice cream-aholic (I know that is not a word, but I do believe it conveys what I want to say better). I can feast on Chocolate flavor and butter scotch for days... despite my ulcerative colitis issue.

thesids that sounds really good, and easy to make. Do you mince it in a mixer then? I wonder how it would work if you did this with like milk and pudding mix; then put it in the freezer, and once it was frozen you mixed in the mixer. I am just thinking the pudding mixes because it is cheap and already has the sugar and flavor all in one. I never thought of trying that over vegetables that could be interesting, but agree that it does sound best over fruit. Thank you for sharing.

Ice-creams have always been my favourite. It is something which i like to eat very much. No matter what the flavours are, i like all kinds of ice-creams i.e vanilla, strawberry, chocolate, butter scotch and so on. Although i prefer chocolate and butter scotch the most but other flavours arent bad either. Its really a delicious beverage for me which i hav always liked and i will be liking it forever.

Yes, there is something about ice cream that makes it delicious year round. Well, here in Arizona it is a year round season for ice cream as it rarely gets chilly cold here in the Arizona dessert climate. I do love butterscotch topping on ice cream it is delicious. Well the funny thing is that I am kind of picky when it comes to chocolate ice cream. I think it is because I like more the richer taste of dark chocolate than the milk chocolate flavor. This dark chocolate ice cream was so delicious. The funny thing was I was texting a friend about the ice cream. He said it was not fair. Then, the friend said that he was headed to the grocery store to buy ice cream, chocolate syrup, and cool whip. The friend although much older than I is quite the little kid especially when it comes to ice cream.
