Why do people just stand there....

Okay, right now I am sitting at home and watching this tv show. If someone was getting killed by some crazy murderer or some monster, okay why just stand there and watch your friend or whoever get killed and not run or try to fight the person who just jumped your friend and killed them. I think if this was real life, maybe that person wouldn't just stand there. But then I think that maybe the reason that they would stand there is because they are in shock and they are not sure with what is going on and they are just standing there frozen. But, I think if that were me, I'd at least try to fight the person attacking whoever it was in front of me, or at least run, if I saw there was no reason to help my friend or whoever, like if they are already dead. What do you think and what would you do if you were in this situation?

This is not degrading your culture, but most Americans do not care more,if that is not their friend or relative affected, unlike here in the Philippines, that whoever is the culprit would be seen pitiful towards all people that he encounters could box him or hurt his body, because a murderer or anyone who commits a crime here is seldom brought to jail without any bruises, because people here cares about the victim, that criminals are afraid people would hurt them.

Actually the city and state that I live in. I think the people here are more likely willing to jump in and help anyone despite them being a friend or a family member or whatever. I like that about here, because people are willing to stand up and fight for strangers.

I have noticed that in most areas that I see about on TV around America, but not everyone is not like that at least not where I am living at now. There are people that are willing to stand up and help people. No matter the situation. But also you have to remember as well what you see on movies, that's just a movie.
