Domestic Violence

There is something that we can all fear when we are not safe at home. Home is a place where one should feel safe. Safety is relative to what one chooses to believe is safe, but normally, it means being safe from harm in this current definition. In my mind, domestic violence is a community issue. There are times when one does not feel safe at home and may look to the community for help. It is very sad when the home is a danger zone. I feel safe at home, and something I wish for everyone is a home free from violence and a place where healthy relationships flourish. Happy holidays as we strive to have peace on earth and good will toward everyone.

My oldest daughter lived in fear in her home for over 20 years! She had 2 kids and wouldn't listen to anyone and get out of the relationship. Thank God she never married the jerk and finally got rid of him. Thankfully she has an awesome man in her life right now and he's a prince! I never thought I would see the day she would be happy in her own home!

People need to understand that the home is a place where safety is everything. Relationships that do not allow for one to feel safe and secure need to be evaluated and there needs to be an intervention for those in denial and an escape plan for those that need it.
