Parking lots in the market

I went to the market this morning to buy fresh goods but when I arrived at the market, the parking is very bad. There were many cars waiting for the parking lots to be vacant. After a long wait, I'd already parked my car and did some chitchats to some vendors, I told them that there are a lot of cars here today so that means customers to them. But he answered me, "The owner of those cars are not customers, those were tenants here". For me, I think tenants should not bring there own cars in the market since that parking lots were allotted for customers. I mean, my opinion is that if the parking lots are free of cars from the tenants, there will be more customers that can park, so additional income to those vendors.

That's one of my peeves too. Not only in the market place, but even banks. In several instances, I couldn't find a parking slot even though there were two slots vacant but they were 'reserved' for the bank manager. I mean, what gives? I'm the customer, and they earn money from my banking transactions. That's similar to markets. A customer who can't park his car, is as good as a lost sale for the vendors.

Haha! I also had that incident before in banks. Couple of years ago I went to the mall to shop but I forgot my cash in my room so I decided to go to a bank just outside the mall and there is a parking slots in front it so I decide to park there but the security guard forbid me because, those parking slots were reserve for the bank employees only. Well luckily, I worked on that bank before and I didn't surrender my ID when I resigned (Just wanted some souvenir), so I showed it to the security and they let me use the parking slot because they thought that I'm still an employee of that bank. =)

Woah, that's not good. What bank was that? You're from QC area right? You know BPI branch at SM North EDSA? that's what I'm referring to my story.

Lucky you. I almost had gotten into a fistfight with the guard. The guard was stubbornly rude and pompous.

Thanks a ton for sharing this discussion. Yes u are absolutely right, parking lots are always meant for the customers and not for the tenants. If this situation happens every where then there will be no space left for the customers to park their vehicles and thereby the number of customers visiting to the shops will decline substantially so ultimately the shop keepers would be the biggest sufferers due to this. I think the shop keepers need to talk to the manager of that place and demand for a possible solution as quick as possible. What say?

Yeah, I think they need to allocate a designated parking slots for tenants and slots for customers, in that way it would be a win-win situation.

Huh, that certainly seems sort of backwards doesn't it!? The vendors want people to come shop and buy from them, but it's hard to do if their cars are taking up the parking spots originally meant for the customers of the market! At my work, the employees park out of the way (in another part of the parking lot) so that our cars won't be getting in the way of the customers' cars.

Yeah, it's like they do not realize that problem. In my previous company, they also do allot some slots for the customers or visitors and employees. Left parking slots for visitors and customers. And right slots for employees.

That's what developers should foresee. Before constructing a mall or building for business, parking spaces should be planned to accommodate more cars. Like you said, the wider the parking space, the more chances for a booming business.

yes , I agree with you. You know i is inconvenient for customers to park if there is little parking lots there in market. Sometimes, it is annoying. The market should give more vacant partking lots for customer not tenant, right? have a nice day.

Yes it is very inconvenient, actually I can just commute if I want to go to the market but I bought a lot of fresh veggies, fish and meat that I cannot carry it all by myself that is why I brought a car.
