While it is true that Alex Smith was the long time starting QB of the San Francisco 49ers his plays does not show the same versatility of 2nd year QB Colin Kaepernick who has been the starting QB for the last 4 games. The 49ers has been 3-1 with Colin at the helm. He has passed for 1,073 yards with a 67% pass completion, 3 TD and 1 INT. He also ran for 351 yards and an additional 5 scores. In the losing effort against the Dolphins he ran for a 27 yard touchdown that almost sealed the win if not for the last second field goal by Miami that tied the ballgame and the eventual field goal that won the game. Alex Smith led the 49ers to a 7-2 start until he was sidelined with a concussion during game 9. He has since compiled 1,731 passing yards with a 70% pass completion rate, 13 TD and 5 INT, and 134 yards rushing. So, did Jim Harbaugh make the right decision to stick with Colin? What do you think?
