Recently, five patients who were diagnosed with endocarditis, or an infection of the heart chamber lining and valves, four of them had to return to the hospital for a second operation according to a story first published in the Los Angeles Times. How scary is this. To go into the hospital and find this happened to you. Have you ever been a victim of such a thing but in another type of operation or procedure you have had?

Thanks a ton for sharing this discussion. Yes i know this also happens in our country, where people are not made aware about their illness on the first consultation and due to this they have to come to the hospital again to know that they are diagnosed with some illness. I think it is not only a wastage of time but also money and energy. I think it is the duty of the doctors to make their patients aware of each and every problem that they are battling so that they do not have to run again and again. What say?
