Well, it is finally time to cook my turkey. While some bake theirs on Thanksgiving day, I have the tradition of not cooking a turkey on Thanksgiving. I do enjoy turkey and it is good hearty meal that is budget friendly. This year I am trying to a little bit different way of making my turkey. When I went to take out the turkey injector I found that the infector was broken, so I thought I would try brining the turkey; then I plan to try to put the butter herb flavoring under the skin of the turkey. Afterwards, I will do my trick for basting the skin with the herb, garlic butter paste that is left that adheres so well to the skin of the turkey that there is no need to baste the bird. I like to cook the turkey in a cooking bag because it keeps the bird nice and moist. The downside is that I have never figured out how to remove the turkey from the cooking bagwithout spilling the drippings or an easy way of removing the turkey juices from the bag so that I can use them for making gravy and broth for soup. I was wondering if anyone here has any ideas or suggestion on how to successfully remove the turkey from the bag, while still preserving the dripping.
