The best gift you've ever received from your friend

Eventhough we said we don't need a special gift on our special day (like birthday, or wedding day), there must be a little 'happy' moment when you received a gift. On my birthday my best friends usually give me a present. but sadly, there were some of their present which i don't really like, such as a 'not cute' doll, or other non benefit items. and there is some of it too which i like so much and i use it many times until now. it was a simple diary with a small padlock and the key (i don't know how i could like this thing so much) and fashionable bag.
How's yours ? what is the best gift you've received until now? Perhaps i can use it as the idea to give a present to my friends next time .

My best Birthday gift that one of my dearest friends gave me was treating me to lunch. We went to a nice cafe for lunch. It was a few months after my husband was diagnosed with cancer. By that time, my husband was on his way to recovery after surgery and treatment. My friend really wanted to do something to cheer me up because I had a hard time dealing with my husband having cancer. Not only was I having a hard time dealing with my husband having cancer, I was also heart-broken that one of my dearest friends was diagnosed with cancer, the same month as my husband and she was still going through chemo. As I sat across from her that lunch, I thought my dear friend looked beautiful under her pretty wig. I should have been the one cheering her up, but instead she was reassuring me. Such is her kind and caring heart. Hope everyone stays healthy, so not sure how you can use my idea for your friends.

I always wanted a stuffed toy and my mom gives that to me every year on my birthday. It's not that since birth but maybe now she has given me 6 stuffed toys. I wonder if she will still give me a stuffed toy again this year because I told her not to - I hope she remembered it. My bed is getting loaded with all of them.

in the netherlands, people have a tradition that sinterklaas put a gift inside a shoe. this happens early part of december. so what i got from my housemate and friend was a bar of chocolate shaped like M for my name. it is really sweet. because when i was about to get my shoes, i found the chocolate. it was really surprisingly nice at my age to receive such a gift.

Actually every birthday and Christmas they all give me cash since they told me that they don't really know what I want and I am a bit picky with things so they decided to give me cash instead so I can buy what I really want. But there are 2 friends of mine who give me a simple birthday card which it's really cute and can be displayed. And one of my friend gave me net book so it's quiet handy unlike my old laptop that is too big. So that's the gift I really love and I used it every time.
