There's a lot being said about the shootings today...

but we cannot forget what is most important. President Obama so eloquently said in his address: While nothing can fill the space of a lost child or loved one, all of us can extend a hand to those in need to remind them that we are there for them, that we are praying for them, that the love they felt for those they lost endures not just in their memories but also in ours. I think what he said is so important. I live in a town bordering Newtown and this tragedy, especially because it stroke so close to home, is just so unbearable on so many different levels. This is a time when we need to come together despite differences. We need to offer support and care. On the other hand, we need to make changes. Too many tragedies are occurring and far too often. I am not going to say that I have the answer to all of this, as I don't believe anybody really does, but the only way to advance is to come together proactively. The time of sitting around should be in the past. There is so much more to be looked at than just gun control. School safety, mental health help/treatment/identification, and crisis control all need to be discussed here...so let's. what are your thoughts?

Thanks a ton for sharing this discussion. Well what can i say about this incident that has taken the entire world by storm and i cannot understand whether the gunmen was having any brain and heart or not. Did not he give a single thought that he was about to end lives of so many innocent children? i think we all are helpless and have to think of something concrete which will prevent such horrifying incidents from our society until then i would like the souls of the children to rest in peace. What say?

I agree I just wish the answer was simpler. Unfortunately I do not think the gunmen had a heart or brain. It just saddens me that there are people out there like that.
