Iluminati

A few days ago I had the chance to see the film Iluminati on TV. As I already read the book before, I was quiet interested in the movie to see how they developped the story. If I take it seperately, the film was well done. But, if I compare the movie with the book, in this case a lot of information went lost. I missed many details which I've read and haven't been so clear on TV. So in this case, I prefer the book. Do you usually watch movies based on books after you have read them? Do you usually compare?

hi, actually i don't usually read a whole thick book and watch it in the television,i always prefer to watch the story and movie thru television so that the story more become shorter and finished the story with understanding,so no comparison happen.

Of course, it's easier to watch the movie and I also like to watch them, but have you never asked yourself what kind of value information you miss when you don't read the book? That's why I sometimes rather prefer to read the book and let run my own imagination, even if it takes longer than watching the film. There are some of them I prefer on the screen than reading, but I love books. It doesn't happen very often that I read a book and watch the film, so the comparison is not usual.

I am usually disappointed with the movie version of the film. I read 'Call the Midwife' which I enjoyed, but the film was pretty boring and the characters less developed. The same happened with 'The Help' it was a lesser version of the book with nothing like the same depth. Both these films were acted well but perhaps the truth is that they cannot compare with the combination of an author's book and the reader's imagination.

That's the point, I agree with you. This difference between book and movie is the reason why I rather prefere to read a book during a day and whatch tv at night time when I am already too tired to get my mind on the history of a book.

I like to watch movie. I love movies based on books, especially if i have read the book, then sometimes though i would just be disappointed especially if the book is better than the movie created. Sometimes though i would watch the movie, or the series first before i would read the book - more often if i have watched the movie i would no longer be interested in reading the book. hehe :D And oh, i do love stories and movies and books about the Iluminati, and the likes.

That's right, if I watch the movie first, it might be bored to read the book after I know the history. When we read a book, the author has his/her own idea how he/she imagines the places and persons of who interact and so does each reader. But once you whatch the movie, you already see the places and persons as the director of the movie imagines or chose for it. So reading the book after watching the movie, you immediately think at what you've already seen instead of working out your own imagination. Otherwise, if you read first and then see the film, you still can compare. What other kind of books/movies do you have read/seen about the Iluminati?

I used to read the book first before watching the movie. Definitely there would be a comparison since seldom a movie made exactly or nearly identical to what's on the book. I always find the story in the books better than the movies. Perhaps because it is really hard to include all the details or even just the important ones in a movie since it is just expected to run for a few hours. We do have movies now with two parts of a single story because of that but it would be bad if it would be more than 2 parts. The waiting will definitely annoy the viewers.

You're right, and even if the director of the movie would be able to include all the details, the movie never will be the same than our own imagination while we read the history. But even so, it's interesting to see the film after reading the book to compare our own imagination with the one of the filmmaker and how he/she managed the details.
