Factories: Founding Institutions Still Strong & Holding?

United States

While we still see a smokestack or two rising from tall industrial sites, and remember that we were at the forefront of the Industrial Revolution some decades ago, we have to see the big picture that we no longer are at the foreground of Industrial Power. The US has LOST approximately 42,000 plus factories since 2001 (According to Business Insider). Names that have been associated with the US forever are going, going, gone. Where? To foreign lands that pay a mere pittance to workers. Household brands such as Johnson & Johnson, Kellogg and John Deere have diversified to other countries after shutting down plants here in the US. Once they hit the inevitable wealth gained from moving outside of US, did they reopen the plants back here, at home? The answer is no. The older I get, the more I realize that people tend to put blinders on when it comes to jobs, any job. Factories that were once flourishing and progressing, are now abandoned buildings leaving thousands without jobs and nothing to replace it. I recommend that any person who works in an industrialized factory setting, keep your ears open, mouth closed and read every memo the company throws at you. Within those simple memos, may lie your destiny. Will you still be here 20 years from now?
