It was around four in the afternoon. Thesis class with the one and only beautiful professor, who is very dedicated to make her students learn, not only academics but beyond academics, the most important, life, Miss Nieves, I and my classmate, Ralph B, were thinking of our different topics for our research, of course, we need not to be the same with each other. Ralph's first choice to discuss about was something that goes on with media, since we share the same course, Communication and Journalism, and yeah, he proposed to Miss Nieves that nowadays, people, especially, young ones, are affected by media (TV, radio, and print). What do you think? Yeah, he is right. Nowadays, we are being influenced by media, what we think, what we do, the way we look at life, the way we reason out, the way we write everything on blog, and the way we do simple interaction with other people, an interaction mixed with modes of emotions, whether we are gonna be sad, be glad, be excited, be covered with sorrows and grieve, be terribly mad, and so on and so forth. This topic is indeed a broad ones, and Miss Nieves told Ralph that this is quite tough, not questioning his ability, because for me, if I would be asked, I'll tell you that he can really do this even by himself only. But, since he wasn't sure, and he was doubtful if he could do this, Ms. Nieves told him to think of something else. I was also in the midst of thinking of a topic and suddenly, something familiar situation came to my mind. For others, this was a strange one, but for me, this is a serious situation which usually happens on lots of students, not only grade school pupils, but also high school and even college one. I would like to know if parent's education hinders ability for grade school pupils to speak fluently. I didn't know why this thing popped out of my mind, yeah I was then inebriated with lots of home works, projects, and my internship responsibilities on one of the trusted publishing company. Does parents' education really affect children's ability to speak? How does education go and relate to the education garnered by their parents? We all know that parents are the first one to educate their children, before sending them to a formal school, but I really didn't know then that parent's education is a hindrance on their children's speech abilities. Parental education really affects children's speech ability? I had no idea about this matter, so that's why I offer this proposition to Miss Nieves, and thank god she approved my proposition, but Ralph was still in the midst of difficulties on choosing a right topic. Since he is also a band vocalist, he suggested to propose the effect of music on how grade school pupils think of everything within their lives. Yeah he has a very good voice, possessed on a rock-genre music with his band, and I wish he would join any singing competition like The Voice and believe me, once he did that, aside from me, many music lovers would be his fans. Upon hearing that proposition, Miss Nieves was slightly amazed, as well as me. In the library, around five in the afternoon. I was still in the midst of starting the introduction of our research. I had my first five books borrowed then to use for the Review Of Related Literature (RRL) I took some hard time looking for those books because we only had few books then. No, we didn't get a journal. We would prefer books because I believe that books are more reliable than anything else. Well I would also lean a lil bit on some information online, we were only allowed to have five internet sources. Upon writing a draft for the introduction, yeah, I admitted to myself that it was hard, really hard to work alone, that's why I wished that Ralph would be my partner in this research. Then a couple of minutes later, Ralph came inside also, and he seemed that he was looking for something or somebody else inside, then he saw me. He then told me that Miss Nieves already allowed him to team up with me! Oh dang. I couldn't believe this my prayer was answered for a couple of minutes, and this only proved that god moves in very mysterious ways. A way that nobody could vehemently deny. A way that is acceptable, and a way for the truth. It was just like a big thorn on my brain was removed, and I could only mutter: "Whew...thank you lord" Yeah, I thought it would take a long time for a spiritual beings to answer your wishes and prayers. This also proved that they do not forsake us for as long as they see us struggling for success. Tomorrow, the same time, the same classroom, The Testing Room, yeah the room wherein student applicants are taking their examinations for admission, Me, Ralph, and my thesismates Ghel, Raffy, Cla, Jane, and Locel, together with other classmates, were having a regular meeting about our introductions. And since Ralph was now my partner, we laid down our final topic with a lil bit courage: The Relationship Of Parents' Education On The Acquisition Of English As A Second Language Learning Of Sixth Grade Students Of Public Schools. Quite long but believe me, we carried on all the way to the end wherein our final grade was B+. Fair enough but it was worth everything. At that time, Miss Nieves had already approved all our proposed topic for our three month research. She gave us then a time for us to talk on our proposed final topic. I gave Ralph assignments, since we only see each other twice a week, for Thesis and other Communication Arts subjects. Actually the title of our subject was Introduction To Communication Research - Thesis Proposal. I would always tell him to find some literary sources for the topic, and as much as possible they should be books. He would go on with what I instruct. Well, time was up for that day and Miss Nieves dismissed us already. I saw Ralph hurrying to go home while I and my thesismates were enjoying hanging on with each other, taking lots of wacky photos and messing around. That scenario only proved more that Ralph was really dedicated to his studies. He was not like other jerks who are fooling around their studies while their benefactors are striving hard just to send them to school and make them educate. Ralph has used to be a delivery guy on McDonalds and also used to have a gig every night. Would you believe that he has done this just to pursue his studies. First semester ended and our grade on Thesis Proposal was B-. We had to enroll for another three units of thesis on the next semester. Thesis Proposal includes chapters one to three, and the next thesis, called Communication Research: Thesis Research includes chapters four to six, appendices, and acknowledgements. Several revision had done for the past three chapters from introduction, hypothesis, to methodology and the RRL. This next semester of thesis research would now include an intensive data gathering process and conducting a survey to some public schools. We went to a public school nearby, and because I have a friend who teaches on that, approaching went very easy for us. We went into asking for complete list of students there. All of a sudden, while in the midst of our data gathering process, which was asking for complete names of students, Ralph asked me if he could leave because it was his time report on his work, and I acquiesced to that, letting him go. I then continued that data gathering process and I also went to another public school, wherein I encountered a very strict teacher, probably in his mid thirties, and because it was nearly lunch time, and I was getting hungry already and I really wanted to go home, I asked him several times to give me the complete list of his students. Yeah that teacher was a good looking one but he easily got irritated with me, telling that once I didn't wait, he would never give me the list. I asked me to wait at the faculty room. So, I got down on the faculty room and waited for at least fifteen to twenty minutes. He reached the faculty room after and at last, he gave me the list, instructing me to be careful not to misplace that. I was thinking of Ralph, muttering that I wish he was there. But I understood him as a working student. Days later, after the lottery draw of picking up our subject for the survey, Ralph and I were ready to face the students to conduct a research. Unfortunately, he forgot his identification card, yeah our school's identification card. We had a lil bit argument with the school's guard because the other days we went there, Ralph didn't have his card, but now, why was it that the guard wouldn't be allowing him to get inside the school premises, knowing that he already saw him with me, without that card. Because we couldn't do any arrangements with that, Ralph was very upset then. He just left irritated, and after few minutes, while I'm conducting a research, he just sent me a text message, showing his irritated feelings with that guard. I sympathized with him of course because why wouldn't that guard allow him to enter though he used to get inside the premises without the card for a couple of days. First week of March. The time of our thesis defense came, and we were pretty nervous on how we would answer our professors' cross examination, and of course, we go to study everything we wrote even the revisions and corrections. We had to answer parallel to what we wrote, or else, we would be doomed. At the time of our defense, we had three professors as a panel of judges and of course, Miss Nieves. Before that, Ralph gave me a big amount of money, nearly one thousand for all of the expenses, from papers, to printing, and to book binding, yeah hard copy. I felt ashamed a lil bit because he had to work hard to earn that money for our expenses. I felt great for that after. After the defense, I went to a printing booth to order for a hard bound copy of our research. There I had it, the hard copy, covered with pure red leather and engraved letters all in bold and caps. Ralph saw that and he was really amazed. I ordered a

Hi ruffabee. That was a very very very long post. In fact through your post I came to know that there is an upper limit to how much you can post. By the way I loved reading your whole discussion. In fact even I have made thesis for my bachelors and masters degree project during my engineering. So I have a fair idea on how much time and effort it takes to make one. By the way it seems your discussion is incomplete. Can you tell us what happened after that??? Also I loved the topic of your thesis. Anyways have a nice day ... ~SuperShames~

i really don't know why MyLot cut the last part of my story hehehe upon reading it, I just immediately found out that the last part was cut. Anyways, here's what happened next. I ordered three hard bound copies of my final research output. one for ms. nieves, one for dean, and one for the library copy. We were amazed and felt great when we found ourselves on the day of our graduation, proudly walking on the stage to take our diploma and we are very proud that we had passed that lil endeavor. and I wish I would have a thesis partner like Ralph. :)
