Sachin - don't put your nose in Indo-Pak series

Sachin, to a large possibility that he will take a part in coming Indo-Pak series, and will try (you can try, try, and only try) to muster some runs and come back to form. The phrase "class is permanent but form is temporary" holds for cricketer who are less than 37-38. Once form loses after 38, even Bradman would struggle to get back in form. But knowing Sachin, he will play and causes two acute problems: First, he is not going to make much runs and will put a hell of a pressure to the middle order batsmen in every match and Secondly, team composition will be again an issue, gambhir will come 3rd, Kohli 4th and one player has to be dropped to fit unfit Tendulkar. I'm sick of hearing this : he has been the god of cricket and he has the right when to retire.(Without seeing the implications it going to cause to Indian cricket). I'll keep playing till I'm enjoying this game - Sachin. My dear Sachin, you are going to enjoy this game through out your life, this doesn't mean that you will not retire. Disgusting. That day will not be far, when selectors have to axe you and than you retire.

Sachin has been out of form and on current form he should not be allowed to be in team because he has been given so many chances and in 2012 he hasnt done anything except one hundred that too against Bangladesh. But the question is who is the player who can fit in his shoes. We have tried yuvraj, Raina, and many others. They do not make more runs in their youth as this man make in his 40th year. So either selectors should be strict and if they sack him then they should bring young new blood and not give his place to those who have been tried time and again and failed.

Ok you just said what i said in last line but If you replace Sachin then replace with new guy not those guys who had enough chances yet never played responsibly. If his place has to go then it has to go to someone who has hunger in him and not those whose bank balances are already over flowing and do not show any hunger to make runs.

Well Prashant when I said fit in sachin's shoes it meant he show the hunger which sach showed about 23 years ago. No one right now in world can come near to Sachin but one day they would. Manoj is good and be given chance.

Filling shoes of Sachin is nearly impossible, but it doesn't mean that he should be given a long rope just because he has done so much for Indian cricket. Every player wants to play for India and want to serve Indian cricket as much as possible. Even Dhoni has done worlds of goods for Indian cricket. Enough chances were given to Sachin (more than anybody would get) and really Sachin's time is over. If he will make runs, you will not see glimpse of Sachinism which is there in his every innings. Freshness can bring Indian Test cricket back on track though it may take a some time.

Not only Sachin but Dhonia, Shwag, Gambhir, Yuvraj, Koholi and so on did not play well so should everyone take retirement. If Sachin take retirement is it 100 sure that Team India will win against Pakistan. Problem not Sachin but the main problem is that we dont have Luxman and Dravid right.

Hey mohitraj321, Some changes can be never replaced by other changes. Retirement of Luxman and Dravid is the main problem what India is facing now. Indian selectors is trying to replace their presence with other but in reality they cannot be replaced by others because they are legends with classics. Lets hope there will arise such new legends to Indian cricket team.

It's time that sachon should retire. Enjoying playing is definitely in the interest of the country. VVS Lakshman was forced to retire but notsachin.

The retirement of VVS Laxman was indeed very surprising. Though we are deviating from the original discussion here, I guess the announcement of his retirement was just the tip of the iceberg of what was going on inside. It is really surprsing that even when a player was selected, he announces his retirement as a stage where he is included in the team. And it is even surprising when it is none other than the Very Very Special Laxman. I really feel sad for this great player.

Hi anil, Sachin has been one of the greatest players of cricket not only in India but in whole world. He is a proud man and he would know when to retire. Given what he has done to Indian cricket and nearly carried the weight of whole team for years till recently. Now the first sign of team returning favour by carring his weight till he finds his form back, there are signs of protest. If he thinks there is no cricket left in him, I am sure he would leave it same day.

Now you should happy asweetie because Sachin is now out of one day cricket. Happy now but now I am not going to see any one day match as I have seen before. Now I will only consider in India winning not in individual performance. Now I will see test cricket cricket.

I feel that the presence of Sachin and Shewag is quite important. I feel that it is quite important because India lacks the advice or the tactics to tackle Pak bowlers and batsmen at some instant. At those time the presence of senior players are quite important. I hope they will make use of their chances and play a significant role in the game. good Luck India Go India

Hi, I think Sachin listened your voice or read your message that he took retirement from one day cricket and not playing in Pak tour. I think that now Sachin should retire with honor and respect from Test cricket too.

Yes, you are right in every word what you said. But at the same time, I also feel sad for this great player. I remember, "As you know where you have to start from, you should also know where to stop". I think those people are great in a real sense who know where one has to stop. I have an advice for Sachin. If he so much loves this game, then today, representing the nation is not the only option. This man has done it other than any human on the planet today. So, if it's only the question of enjoying the game, then there is IPL for him. Go Sachin, and represent the Mumbai Indians. You will also enjoy your game there, isn't it. After all, he didn't say he has to enjoy the game at the top level. And IPL is no child's play either. The best in the world are chosen and one has to fight against them. So, if it is a question of enjoying the same, Sachin can resort to the IPL. It is very important that India plays without Sachin, errrr... I mean, Sachin allows playing Indian without him.

I dont think any one should tell Sachin when to retire. The Services he has given to world cricket is remarkable. Its allright he is growing old but it doesnot mean that we forget every thing whch he has given to cricket. Its totally up to him when he says good bye to cricket. He did scored 70 odd runs in an innings against england and he should definitely play against pakistan. He needs one big innings and he is back.
