Please prove me right, Sachin

There have been such a great talk about Sachin Tendulkar's retirement, that I have even started dreaming about him I am, with great courage starting this discussion hoping that Sachin proves me right. I dreamt that Sachin had scored a century and that was his 101st international century. Now, I really don't know what that means. I may even get brickbats for saying this (just a personal opinion) But how should I interpret this?

Sachin is a real hero in the history of cricket. His records proves that he is what he is. I feel that now this is not a good time for Sachin and this is the reason why he is not in a good form. Let the time keep on going and bring him glorious wins and let's wish him a good luck. May be your dreams may come to reality. Each of the Indian loves to make it into reality but it is god who decides what to happen. Any lets lend our prayers to team India and for him. Happy Mylotting

There is hardly any doubt that he is not a great player. Even his critics admit that. Actually the more the number of critics, the more able a player is. Critics also criticize those people who have achieved or have the ability to achieve. I think Sachin is one of those people who will never get disheartened by such talk. But he is also a human and I feel sorry for this great man when I hear thoughts that are framed keeping only the current status in mind. I also wish that my dream comes true.

Let's hope he indeed does it and at the same time see to it that people do not keep criticizing him for the bad phase he is going through. He has the ability to shut the critics and I am very much sure he will do it once again.

Yes. But that gives him more space to focus on Tests. That's good for him that he did not retire from Tests too.

Dreams become true.. I hope this superstition become true this time. Well, He can for sure. I have heard in the news that he may play against Pakistan in ODI series. So even he is going on with his worse form, I still hope he prove that he is little master. He had done lot for India in past and we just can't forget it.

I also heard that he is willing to play against Pakistan and I strongly believe that, that might be the last series for him. But a century can really shut the mouths of his critics. I also think that if he is indeed going to hit a century there, that should be the end for him. However, he may perform in this series, Tendulkar should call it a day after that. And I wish he goes on a high.

Yes.. I have also heard that this will be last series, but only for ODIs.. He will continue in test. So in the end it is good. I hope he left ODIs with good performance in this series.

This is new information for me. I don't know if he will only be playing a certain format and not the other. Well, whatever he does, I just want him to do better, that's all.

I think it is difficult, especially the coming matches are with Pakistan. He was to retire when he achieved his 100th century. His face expression on reaching that greatest record was a clear evidence for exhausted state of his mind and body. As a fan of him it is painful to me to see his miserable conditions while batting after losing form and concentration. Any more matches that he play would be bringing more and more shadows on reputation of that great player.

"He was to retire when he achieved his 100th century." Was that for real? I didn't hear anything like that. I am sure there was no such talk about retirement when he reached his 100th 100. It makes no difference and sense if other people are saying that he should have retired after reaching that milestone other than Sachin himself and he hasn't spoken one word that he would be calling it a day after 100 100s. But yes, it certainly hurts a lot to see that he was really exhausted at that time. If he is in the same frame of mind, I don't know at the moment, but overall, he is really tired after playing for about more than 22 years. But I agree that the longer he plays and fails, the more damage he will be bringing to his reputation and figures.

Your dream is very optimistic but in reality, it seems like an uphill task for Sachin. And if he does, than you probably won't like that century as that would be slow and a selfish century by Sachin which would result in India losing that game. And of course, the balance of India ODI team is going to be disturbed because of this old buddy trying to hold his feet in India cricket - Sachin.

Well what would the selectors do when Sachin is not there - replace him by another batsman, isn't it? So, even if Sachin goes, there will be batsman who will take his place. So, a batsman for a batsman - in that case, if we are looking for a batsman anyhow, then what bad is Sachin? And what guarantee is there that the new player will 'replace' Sachin? Sachin is irreplaceable. Look at someone like Rohit Sharma. He hasn't delivered up to the expectations in the team of late. I don't know a lot of stats, but such a player cannot take Tendulkar's place.

I really hope sachin comes back in form again quickly. I really beleive he will perform in the next series.I feel sorry for sachin. His few bad perfomances has made him a villian. He has to be the best i have ever seen. People should ignore his few poor perfomances. He should be supported when he needs the support of his fans. We should leave the retirment factor totally up to him.

There are a lot of people who hope the same way as you. He is a great player and that is why his failures are equally great, which has transformed him in a villain. The sad thing is that people will not remember how he single-handedly won the cup for us in Sharjah against Australia when India needed to win the match in less than 40 overs to qualify and then came back to hit another ton to guide India to victory. What he needs is support from us and not any sort of discouragement.

Sachin has retired from ODI and he won't play in recent Pak match T20.HE is a master blaster and will always be for the records he has made which nobody can break.
