Basis of earning?

hello mylotians,i am new to this site but i am bit confused about the earning system of the site.how do we earn money,does it depend upon number of comments we post or number of words in the comment.do we get paid for the responses (by other members) on the discussion we started and for adding photos to our profile.thanks

From what I have picked up on, the longer and more quality posts the more you get paid. Those that invite a lot of substantive discussion based on the subject matter are ideal. You usually want to respond more than a yes or no or more than one sentence. I think that links and photos are good, too.
I am not sure about the profile comments.
