Fee Paying Primary School in UK

I have put in applications for my daughter to start primary school in September 2013 but I am anxiously worried that we are not going to get the first or second choice of primary school. I was thinking that if she doesn't get the best primary school, to send her to a fee paying primary school and maybe a fee paying secondary school when she is older if we can afford it. Did anyone on here attend a fee paying primary school/secondary school when they were younger? Do you think that it provided you with the better education than attending a non-fee paying school?

My daughter has her children in a primary school which is fine. Her problem is secondary schools she cannot find one that is any good.I am sure she is worrying to much. All the schools were rough when I was a girl.If the teachers see your kids want to learn they will be ,Lots of people worry to much.when they go out at weekends they see lots of different people some good some bad.It is the way it is in this world.I have never heard of fee paying primary school only private schools there will be a list on the net for your area.If you don't get the school you like join the pta of the school she is sent to and try to change things from the inside.Things have certainly changed sinse my kids now in their late teens through to middle thirties went to school in the old days you went to the local school and then onto the the catchment area secondary school.I am sure she will be fine.
