Fruit for New Year's Eve

It is a common belief for many of us, especially Filipinos, to have circle fruits on our table during the New Year's eve celebration. It is for good luck as we do believe. I am just wondering if how many fruits do we really have to prepare. For many years since I was a kid, we only put 12 fruits. But now, I hear from some that it should be 13. I am now getting confused.

I think it "changed" to 13 because some astrologers are now saying there are 13 zodiac signs, instead of the 12 everyone recognized for so many years. We are sticking to 12. I have also heard that eating noodles and lentils on New Year's Eve can bring good luck--have you heard this, too?

Yeah, I also prepare noodles but we call it pancit in our country.

We have pancit here too, although I don't make it as often as I make other types of noodles, especially pasta...Happy New Year!
