Now I haven't replied to them nor do I intend to. I don't know all of the rules of listia but I am pretty certain that asking someone to allow them to send you credits so they'll win it is against the policy. Let me clarify. I have something listed, someone asked me if they sent me so many credits would I let them have it. A) I am not sure if that's even possible. B) no it's not fair to everyone else who wants it. Have you seen this on listia before?

Oh do you mean like instead of doing the auction? I forget what they call it...a gin I believe. I dont think you can have a gin after people start bidding, but maybe thats what they had in mind?

I've heard the word "gin" but wasn't sure what it was. So a Gin is an offer before bidding begins?

I know this comment is from 3 months ago, but thought I could help. GIN stands for Get It Now, which is completely acceptable and even promoted on Listia. The seller sets up what they think is a fair amount of credits for their item, and the buyer can agree to GIN it. All you need to know is right there in the Rules and How it Works FAQ that is on th ebottom of Listia's home page. It is very short and will literally take you 5 minutes to read. I suggest you do that, you could be screwing yourself out of some great deals or even possibly do something wrong without knowing it.

I wouldn't do it, I have joined Listia but there is nothing worth wild. But I hear all these stories. I wouldn't risk a bad name, or being unfair I would feel too guilty about it. Some people think everyone owe's them something.

I don't think it's even allowed on the site. I know there is something called a "gin" but I think that is where someone can ask for it for so many coins before the bidding begins. I've seen some things I would like. Precious Moments things. I'll stay on the site and just look, perhaps there will be something worthwhile, but in the meantime it's a good way to get rid of things that don't seem to be selling on other sites.

I just heard of listia today and i cant wait to start putting things on there for sale and getting rid of things and getting some new things, its going to be fun and i really cant wait. I need some house stuff so that wil be nice to get and to have as well. I know its going to be alot of work to get going on this site and i hope i dont run into anyone like that. I think im going to learn to knit soon and hopefully i can knit some scarfs and some stuff and get that going and then put that stuff on there as well. I cant wait to use this site im actually very excited.

It is a great site! I love it there and I have gotten so many cool things there. Just watch out for the cheaters like the discussion starter is talking about. It is very rare but it happens...

Lologirl, I am feeling the same kind of excitement as you are. I am not sure why I didn't list anything sooner. LovingMyBabies, I am glad it is rare. Now I do have a question, when your auction ends how do you get the address info to send it to the person? I need to read more on the rules.

Their address should already be in the system. Send them a message through the site telling them they won and you need their address. They just hit their address on the actual page of the auction they won and it will send to you...

I have been asked by someone before for the same thing and it is against the rules and plain wrong. There are people that are trying to win the item the right way and these people want to cheat others! It's not fair and I would never do it. These people should know better than to ask someone to do this for them...

I agree. I know if this happened to me on something I was bidding on I'd be upset if my bid was just knocked out from under me so unfairly like that.
