Do you know when your body tells you that you have too much sleep? With being sick this past week I have gotten way 2 much sleep and my body is telling me otherwise. I been staying up til like 11pm every night and then sleep in til 10:30 or 11am and then I take a nap about 1pm and so forth and so on. I think I've slept enough that my body doesn't want to go to sleep anymore. But it feels nice to be all rested up again and I'm finally starting to feel better. Still no voice yet but it's starting to come back, I think by tomorrow I should have my voice again. Have you ever been thru this before?

Too much of work will give tiredness to us, we must take proper break in our work and refresh our self to gain energy. Some persons are interested in doing over time job to earn more from their job, but this over time work will give more tired to us and we need more rest than normal if we do over time jobs. We must give importance to our health and avoid restless work. Normal person must have at least 8 hour sleep per day. Some days we may sleep more than 8 hours due to our tiredness. There is nothing wrong in taking more rest. But some persons will sleep for a long time every day and get up very late due to their laziness, surely they must avoid such kind of activities. Rest is important in our life, but taking too much of rest is not a good thing. We must avoid too much of sleep. If you got such kind of sleep rarely due to your hard work, you are deserved for the rest. Otherwise if you are taking such kind of sleep due to your laziness you must surely avoid it. I never had too much of sleep in my life. Always i go to bed in the night time around 10 pm and raise up at 6 am in the morning. Mostly i don't like the after noon naps, but in some occasions i will take nap in the noon times if i am very much tired with my work. We must care about our health and take proper rest to avoid unwanted health issues. Don't do any work if you are feeling sleepy, we don't have the ability to concentrate in our work if we need sleep. Be active and do your work properly.

During the work week I go to bed by 8 or 9pm and wake up at 5am every day for work. On the weekends I try to take full advantage of getting more then 8 hours of sleep and sleeping in if I can. This week I been sleeping alot because I been sick and my doctor said sleeping and eating good meals will help you feel better. And it's true it worked. I don't ever get this much sleep so took advantage of it. Now it's going to be hard getting back in the work routine since i've had 4 days off and I go back tomorrow. I'm sure it'll be ok though.

I have had laryngitis before and it is a rather slow recovery. I have severe depression and have learned over the years that sleep is my friend. Rather than being awake and miserable I sleep. And after a sickness I think it is common to feel life you have over slept but it is good for your body. Rest helps you to heal.

Sleeping does feel good and it has been helping me. It sucks having laryngitis, I still don't have my normal voice back yet, I can talk more but it's still hard to understand me. I'm supposed to go back to work monday so I hope it's back by then. It'll suck if it's not.

I would be resting my voice and getting it back in shape for Monday. Hot tea with honey will soothe the throat. Might take some to work.

A pleasant day Blondie2222, There are times, I do feel that I slept too much. However, the more I sleep, the more sleepy I become. So, what I am doing is, I am regulating my sleeping habit, hence, I see to it that I am taking the 8-hour sleeping cycle.

At times I do have to say I feel more tired then I am when I get too much sleep. I got 10 1/2 hours of sleep last night and I feel refreshed today. I go back to work tomorrow so going to be hard going to bed early tonight and only getting my normal 7 to 8 hours of sleep that I get during the week but I'll get used to it again.

I feel like sleeping all day long but I can't with my kids. I am so weak and tired, I really want to sleep some of this sickness off. I am sitting here and every little while I have been dozing off, and then my kiddos wake me. I have never felt this tired my whole life! It is so weird, I never take naps ever but I feel like I really need to right now... My kids are going to their grandma's like they do every Saturday so I am hoping I can get a little sleep while they are over there...

Sorry you are feeling that way but once they go to their grandmas I would take full advantage of taking a nap while their gone so you can feel a little better and have some more energy when they come home. Hope you feel better.

LovingMyBabies Oh I remember those days when the kids were little and I carved sleep. As I said before, I think we can handle almost anything if only we get enough sleep. I hope you can rest when the kids are gone..best wishes!!!

Lying in bed for long periods is pretty boring and most of us only do it when we are sick. When people are long term ill they are prone to bedsores and they get weak so i am sure that too much time in bed is not good for us. I often wake up feeling tired and occasionally I wake up late feeling thick headed, so that must be my body telling me that I have had too much sleep. Yours is telling you that it is better now and wants to start moving around again.

I did alot of moving around yesterday we ended up having company over so I spent time with them and got out of bed for 4 hours so that was nice. Went to bed at decent time last night and slept for 10 1/2 hours and woke up at 915am this morning and feeling pretty good. I have my bowling league later tonight so it'll be nice to actually get out of the house and do something. I been coped up in the house for the past 4 days with being sick.

If I stayed very late in the former evening, I will usually go to bed earlier in the nexxt evening to make sure my body can have enough rest. But usually I can only fall asleep until reach the normal sleeping time. While laying in bed can make my body relax, but my brain can not rest it at that time. I find go to bed early may be not a good choice, having a nap at afternoon can help more than sleeping.

Yes, it's nice to have a long and restful sleep every now and then. But, like you, I do have my moments of not wanting to sleep anymore. A sleep of more than twelve hours would make me a little dizzy. I hope you will be better soon. Have a nice day!

Sleeping too much - Sleeping too much is not good for your body
Hi blondie, We are almost the same! I always or usually sleep late night and barely get up around 8-9am and if I did I feel like I don't have energy and need to sleep again or nap too much. I notice that it making me feel lazy when I sleep too much tho and I am trying not to sleep to much and just enough;-)

When I got too much sleep, there's something I'm going to be suffered on. My head will be pounding like it's going to blow up. My body will be so sluggish that I don't want to get out of my bed. Moreover, I will be feeling here aching and there aching. Finally, if I would continue to sleep, I would ended up being sick.

If one got sick then she needs complete bed rest. Sometimes we work so hard so we can let ends meet and for some luxury in life , to the extent that we work like a machine forgetting to rest ,so ends up being sick. Complete bed rest can help in gaining our energy , promotes fast healing and system relax. I been here when i got Flue for whole week i found myself in bed because all part of the body was aching and so weak. Let us love ourselves rest when it is needed not when it is only sick.

Blondie2222 I think it is possible to sleep too much, although the more frequent complaint is not sleepng enough. I have always said one can handle almost anything if they can just get enough sleep!! I also find with me I want to sleep if I am bored or mildly worried. If I sleep too much, instead of waking up alert, I wake up groggy... Hope you get your voice back soon..I have never had laryngitis but it must be frustrating...

Every once in a while it's good to sleep a little bit more than usuall.. But if you want to recover you need to eat good and rest good. I've been throu something similar like 5 years ago and since then I wasn't sick thanks to god and my habbits..=]
