How many searches are safe

One of the earning features of mylot is the search option. I want to know two things regarding this -
1. Does only searching discussions also stand us a chance to earn anything. I haven't earned anything after searching discussions.
2. How many searches done here would be safe and not be spamming. I have been paid a couple of times when I used the mylot search option.
I need to search various references when I write my articles. So, I need to search a lot. I thought of using the mylot search as well along with my regular searching options so that I stand a chance to earn from here something.

I have received about five rewards total using mylot search. I have had two or three that were generous and the others were low paying. I use mylot search once in a while. I use it to search past discussions on a subject that i am interested in.
I have read discussions where mylotters received a warning about using the search "wrongly". The mylotter who began the discussion was always surprised that he / she got such a warning. They did not feel that they had done anything wrong.

I have also received the award a couple of times. However, that was only for the web search as I have mentioned already. I am not aware of any such discussion as you have mentioned. Yes, I have also searched some discussions, but I am not that regular in searching discussions as I rarely do it.

I am aware of most of the things you told me. However, I was under the (wrong) impression that only web search gives cash credits. But now I know that even searching discussions can give credits. By the way, I am not that consistent in searching old discussions. But whenever I feel the need, I do go for it.

Well, now, I am wondering if I am incorrect. I do know that I have received 5 rewards when searching with the mylot search bar. I usually search for discussions but there have been times when I use it to search the web. I have not received a reward for several months. I really can not remember whether I got rewarded searching discussions. I wonder if any other mylotter would know or maybe we need to ask support. I hope that I am not passing on incorrect information. I would hate to do that.
