today i went shopping at the shop and when i paid the cashier told me that for tomorrow was my birthday (i applied a membership card at that shop,so they know my birthday)i can get 60 yuan cash couppon for free. i was very happy and thought the useful of the membership card. then the cashier gave 12 piece of paper, each cash coupon values 5 yuan. when i went home i saw that you need to consume at least 38 yuan if you want to use the 5 yuan cash coupon, and it doesn't include some discount merchandises. oh, it's not for free, it just want you to buy more things!

Unfortunately some companies / shops / businesses try to make use of promotional methods that at the end of the day do not really benefit the customer that much - they are mainly intended to make the owner of the shop earn more. In such a way I consider it to be a subtle form of cheating. That is why it is always important to read throught the terms and conditions before doing anything.

yes, it is very important to read the terms and conditions before buying. at first i thought you can get a 50 cash coupon and then use it anytime and anyway. but after the cashier told me the "right way" to use it , i felt sodepressed cause i didn't read their term before!

This always happens to me,the sellers will always smarter than our buyers. They will never let you take advantage of them.We must be careful with their business trap.

It is a ploy to try to do more business with you. The very act of giving you the voucher for your birthday itself is a business exercise. A commercial entity would not be so sentimental without a thought of making a profit. That is also what they do in where I live. They give you a $10 discount voucher for your purchases of $100 or more. But if you want to use that $10 discount voucher, you need to buy another $50. It is not free. It is a discount with terms and conditions.

Oh, that's kind of cruel. If they are going to give out a birthday gift, it's rather be a gift, not a hoax. It's really unethical in my opinion.

it really happens frequently here. most of my friends encounter this kind of thing. what i do is to give some of the coupon to my friends and neighbors ,then we can use them together!
