Drumming

I love to attend and participate in Drumming activities, especially on a Full Moon. I've drummed on mountains and on top of New Age bookstore. Once, for my birthday and our anniversary, my partner and I attended a Drumming session facilitated by a licensed massage therapist in Hot Springs, AR. Other drummers came from as far away as St. Louis, MO. There were kettle drums, tambourines and even a train whistle. We drummed without sheet music, purely spontaneous. The facilitator began with a few taps on her hand drum and the rest of us fell in as we felt led to. Each of the two sessions was allowed to flow to its natural ending. Some of us even started dancing around the drumming group. Some accentuated the drumming with chanting. It was a marvelous way to let go of our everyday hustle and bustle. Alas, the evening drew to a close. My partner and I felt like we were floating as we walked outside to our vehicle. I'd like to go back and do that again.

My little boy is five years old and he was given a children's drum when he was two years old. That drum is still used all these years later. His dad used to be very keen on drumming and he has some bongos. It sounds exciting to drum on a mountain and lovely to drum on the top of a new age bookshop. I like the sound of the different drums and the drumming activity sessions. I hope you and your husband can have more session like those ones.

Hello maxi, and thank you for your kind response. It's wonderful that your son has maintained his love of music, drumming in particular. I am not married at this time. That partner was long after my husband and I parted ways. Eventually I will find another life partner who shares my passions, including music, travel and spirituality.
