have you ever been totally freaked out by a musician but still loved them? / myLot

For me I will never ever forget being 8 years old, staying up way later than I was supposed to, watching rage(Aussie music video program) and seeing Aphex Twin - Come to Daddy. The song and the clip scared the hell out of me but at the same time I had never heard anything so original and inspired and I have been in love with Aphex ever since. In my opinion Richard D James is one of the most innovative musicians to ever grace our world. Right up there with the likes of David Byrne and Frank Zappa. But I will never ever forget the fact my first reaction to his art was utter paralyzing fear and awe. Have you ever encountered an artist who has illicited similar feelings?

Thanks a ton for sharing this discussion. Well this has happened with me also, there is a singer called Himesh whom i do not adore as a singer as he sings using his nose but his music composition is too good and almost all of his songs are big hit numbers. Since i am very fond of fast numbers i have loved most of his compositions but not his singing style. What say?
