A prominent politician was arrested today for giving hate speeches with a view to incite one community against another. These are the games politicians play to remain in power. Very often it is the poor people who suffer. Do politicians in your country indulge in such cheap tactics to garner votes?

Thanks a ton for sharing this discussion. Well yes u are absolutely right, i do not understand why such politicians use such cheap acts to garner attention from the people. i suppose they deserve harsh punishment whenever they are making such statements. Poor people are always being made target by these people and this is just a gimmick way to garner votes and nothing else. What say?

I am sure you must have read or seen in the television news such things politician have done either when they deliver the speeches in the public or when they tweet in Tweeter. And you know the best part of such politician, when public or news media makes it big they take the U Turn and try to raise their hand, saying that it is opposition party move to spoil their name.

The politician in question has been sent to judicial custody for 14 days.Nothing will come out of it.He will be a free bird again and ba ck to his old ways. Its becoming increasing painful to see more and more politicians indulge in such rhetoric and get away with no punishment.

You are correct and by giving such speeches in the public meeting actually they are provoking the public as such and the main intention of politician behind all this is to gather the vote or get the sympathy or create the wrong image about the other politician or person in the mind of the people. After all this is nothing but the political game they are playing.

Yes the only purpose of giving such provocative speeches is only to incite violence. To bring hatred among different communities and to garner votes. This is a shameless way to achieve power.

Time and again the politicians do it and think that it is going to help them in their political career. But what they end up doing is fan the communal hatred that is always simmering beneath the surface and cause harm to the people of the nation ! Can they at least some of the times think beyond themselves !
