Yaa...i've & ofcourse I like that. It has presented a man with a powerful business base grounded on family, respect, favors and, of course, murder. The rise of the Dons are brought into blindingly bright view as we see both the caring and compassion of the Dons, as well as their brutal methods for remaining in power and bringing in more business and respect to their families. This is a book that has changed the face of literature and our TV and movie worlds. It deserves our notice and will, with all likelihood, never go out of print.

Despite the typical acclaim given to the book, I wouldn't say it's a very good one. The movie-- though it gets some details of the novel wrong-- tells the story much better than the book does; I think part of the reason is a generally mediocre writing style on the part of Mario Puzo. Now, the Godfather is my favorite film of all time, and I love the book, so don't get me wrong when I say this; but I would still say fans of the Godfather, while probably wise in reading the book to get "the rest of the story," shouldn't be ashamed if they find themselves preferring the movie(s) to the novel(s)!!

GODFATHER....my my...its one of the best ones i've read...it may not be a great book, but its truly inspiring.Atleast it was for me!! Infact,I look upto that kinda person! The way he commands, the surity of his plans, his execution style and his charisma....I really loved the book.NO MATCH for it! And the movie was also good, but the book is too good to be compared with the movie! There are things which a one and a half hour movie can't say....!Infact a lotta things....... I enjoy reading a book than watching the movies of theirs,a similar example is of the Harry Potter series! I think DON CORLEONE is one hell of a guy.His son had e'thing, though it was tough for him to really keep up the good work! But the DAD was just awesome!

one of the first books i've read and good for me! because it became my standard for what i'd consider a good book.. a movie won't be able to catch the effect of the book. but the i think the casting for the movie was a great match..

Simply mindblowing-thats what my friend told me after reading the book i lent him. I was of a similar opinion, the story is fast paced, the characters are amazing and the dialogues are, well, out of the world. A must read for all!!!!
