I just recieved a news 2 days ago about something that you will be interested in. The most awaited Pokemon X and Y. Sadly it will only be for 3dS and not for Wii U. I wonder why Nintendo does this

Maybe Nintendo would like to increase the sales of the 3ds. For instance, I don't hace a 3ds, but watching the new pokemon game coming out, I got psyched and decided to buy a 3ds. Yet, I don't understand why Nintendo insists on only making the series on handheld. I mean yeah Pokemon Colisseum and games like that are fun, but they are not better than the handheld ones. Imagine what Nintendo could do with the power of the Wii U. I just hope they finally decide to make a Pokemon game for the Wii U.

Maybe it has something to do with keeping tradition than a business decision. This would be a bummer since I can't play the game because I do not have a 3DS nor do I have the money to buy one since I spent my savings on buying the latest Wii. So sad, maybe this is the first time I'm gonna miss playing a pokemon game. Sigh...

yup! i also heard and i am really excited. First reason why nintendo didn't put those two games on wii u is because the main series has always been in the handheld for more than 15 years. second reason is that wii u is new so not all pokemon fans have it third reason is they may be planning even something better for da wii u ;p

It would have been nice to be able to play Pokemon on Wii bigger screens and nicer graphics. But maybe Nintendo just dont want to break the pokemon-handheld tradition.

It's most likely because Nintendo focuses mainly on the portable systems for Pokemon. Sometimes they bring it to the consoles, but those usually have some kind of theme (taking pictures of Pokemon, or Coliseum).
