Shopping Errands

Do you try to save time and gas when you go shopping? I feel fortunate that the stores and businesses surround my home in such a way, that I can drive a large circle (somewhat) on the roads to avoid back tracking or driving back and forth, to go to each store and thus, save time and gas. It does take some planning on where to do to first, then second, etc. And what route to take. For example, the last time I went shopping, I had to go to the bank and the library as well as go shopping for groceries and household items in several stores. I needed to go to Walmart and the Dollar Store, as well as another grocery store which carries several items that I can't find at Walmart. So, I planned out my route carefully and therefore, could go from place to place in order, which saved time and gas. Just wondering if anyone else plans their routes and where they need to run errands, in order to save time and (gas) money.

Mine are all kinda far away here.. so I plan trips to run errands with friends and family. So we dont have to pay 3-4 taxi fares here. Saves time and money as well.

If you don't have a car and neither do your friends, that's is a great way to save on paying for taxis.

I make a shopping and errand loop when I do stuff in town. I have stores I go to out of town, and usually do that on days I also donate platelets in that town. I try to get a lot done at once. I go to the recycle center on days that I work because that is convenient as well. I think it saves my personal energy as well as my time and money.

Yes, I like to save on personal energy as well. It can be quite exhausting to shop and I like to get everything done as smoothly and quickly as possible.

When I go shopping I always go to a town 30 miles away. The prices are so much better at Meijer and Walmart than what they are at the local grocery store here in our town. I always try to save time and gas by going in a circle before finding my way back up on the freeway to get home. It saves time and money when I shop like that. I'll go the back way, get to where I want to cash my check, do some shopping, get gas, and then beeline it to Walmart. It works out real well for me.
