i would never want to be a doctor

ever since i was young, being a doctor hasn't entered my mind. i have low tolerance for blood. i think i will faint when i see someone's chest or abdomen opened up in front of me. i've been watching the medical drama "Emily Owens M.D." and i realized i don't really know how i would tell my patient's loved ones that their children didn't survive the operation. oh how painful it would be. and they would blame you for the death of their loved one. such a huge emotional burden. i admire and respect doctors because they really do their best to save lives. it's just not my cup of tea.

hmmm when I was young and asked for ambition I always wanted to be a domestic helper overseas. I admired our neighbor who had beautiful house and children with so much toys one child can dream of. LOL. then I wanted to be a doctor, because our doctor owns a lot of properties. and they are rich. I wanted to be a doctor not to save lives but to earn big money. hahahaha... my evil thought did not succeed for taking medicine degree costs a lot. On the personal note: I was a fan of ER, where I met my boyfriend (George Clooney) as a pediatrician. shhhh he doesn't know that I am his GF otherwise he will call it quits. hahahaha... and now I am a fan of HOUSE MD. I did not dwell in Grey's Anatomy anymore I think it is like ER. I like Dr. Gregory House's wit and the way he thinks... (even just for viewership) Everybody lies. lol. I like the way he solved and his persistence to solve the problem and save lives.. even if it will cause his license as a doctor. I like that undying principle in him. Too bad that the HOUSE MD... is finished.

I heard from others that House M.D. was good so I watched it once or twice. I didn't like the doctor in it. I thought he was mean. Maybe I should have watched it a few more times. Maybe it was his meaness that made this T.V. show so good. He probably was a good doctor---oh well, too late now.

yes... he was mean.. but he's brilliant. I almost fall in love with him LOL. just kidding. It was a good tv series. maybe there will be re runs... you will enjoy watching it and you will learn something about it too. I have learned a lot like, dog's lice when bitten by it is very dangerous. or the person who went somewhere can bring sickness to other people. very nice.

medicine really costs a lot. you really need to spend a lot just to finish the course. i'm not really into ER. i was still young when it was shown in the philippines. with grey's anatomy and house m.d., not also into it. i'm currently watching emily owens since it's still in its first season. i really didn't expect i'b be into it.

It was actually my dream to become a doctor! It is just so sad that my mom didn't allow me to take up Medicine in College. She wanted me to become an accountant. But I hate Math! And so I just took up Dentistry, instead. It is still somewhat related.

Hi I was a biology student and i opted for biology because i wanted to be a doctor. But the sad part as i was not able to clear the medical entrance exam even after attempting two times and wasting two years. I feel really bad now when ever i see a hospital or a doctor.I really avoid them as much as i can.

Hi friend! I consider all medical professions including doctors, nurses and the likes, as the toughest job on earth. That is why I really admire those people on this particular line of work. I know I can never be one of them. The night shifts and the fact that the life of an individual is dependent on their hands is one thing that one has to consider if planning to enter into this kind of profession. That is why our government should consider giving those people in this kind of work additional benefits and higher salaries for that matter. I am sad that if I have a time talking with a student or a newly graduate in related course, they would tell me that they are planning to work in other countries for a bigger income. Have a nice day!

i met a doctor who studied nursing with the desire to go abroad for higher income. it's really weird because they took some years to finish medicine yet they would just settle for nursing.

I wouldn't want to be one either. Do you know what you want to do for a living? Are you interested in a profession? Do you want to have a business? I think you should try taking some kind of test or answer some type of questionaire to find out what possible job would be good for you. If you are still in school, perhaps there is a counselor who can help you----give it a try.

there's this interest test in college where you will have to answer a set of questions and after they evaluate your answers, they will give you a couple of courses that would fit your interests.

Some really are born to be doctors. It is not really easy to be a doctor and it requires a lot of studies and years to finish it. I was supposed to take medicine however my father enrolled me to another course. At first I'm quite furious of what my father did however times passed I realize then I was afraid of blood. I thank God for my father and for my job now. Truly, parents guide you on what is best for you. :-)

We're opposite. That's my biggest dream- to become a doctor. I like to see myself doing an operation, but too bad I did not end up in that profession. Yes, it's hard for doctors to rely a bad news- it breaks their heart to see that they failed.

Every profession is not for everyone. If your heart is not truly in it then it gives no benefit to anyone. For along time my sister wanted to be a nurse. She enrolled in claases and paid her tition. Then came the time they were practicing giving patiens shots using oranges. She couldn't do it. It was a hard lesson to learn but you have to be true to your heart.

When I was a child I always wanted to be a Pediatric surgeon. Then as I got older I thought better of it. The sight of blood doesn't bother me so much but telling people that their child didn't make it I could not do it and everything they go through...It's just not something I would be interested in now.

Yeah. Being a doctor is a noble profession and I also adore those person who are really eager wanting to be a doctor.Like you, I never intended to wish as becoming doctor because blood is one of my weaknesses. When I witnessed some accidents with blood I felt as if I am the patient. lol.

I'm not going to be a doctor or a nurse either. I have a low tolerance of blood too and I don't think I have the mind to cut open a patient's chest or leg for operation. Anyhow, I'm not going to be studying any science-related courses in my pre-university education so it's sealed in stone that I'll never be a doctor or a nurse (and I'm not going to take up nursing in university, just for the record).

What a nice ambition. In doing things you must put all heart and attention to what your working, being a doctor is not a joke for a simple mistake will bring patients six feet below the ground what an irony will be. Things to do for it to work a foundation must be strong and at this point in time the basic foundation is you being who you are from the beginning. I think your field of interest is not being a doctor don't waste your time on something that will be of burden to you. Why not examine yourself and try to analyze what really is best for you. Something that you have no fear of doing but instead interest to do it your best.

Being doctor has a high reputation and nice salary. However, being a doctor also has to suffer a high pressure. This also can be a stressful work. Since the patients go to see you when they are ill. Therefore, it is not a very cheerful thing.
