Of late Sachin Tendulkar has been struggling with the bat and this has led to a debate about the master blaster's possible retirement from the international cricket. Now, that he has already given up One day format, I wonder whether he should stay in Test Format till his son joins the party?

Yes that's true. Arjun was selected for U-14 team and may represent India in Tests in near future along with his father.

Arjun is still a nobody(apart from being a Tendulkar son) and there is no point in talking about him. I don't knew why media is even talking of Arjun. He is just a boy along with so many boys selected for U 14 cricket. I don't see Arjun is going to even make in India international side.

@ anilhclites, True, but here it happens, although he may be "nobody" a Chief Minister's son becomes Chief Minister, others have to walk a long road before achieving that fiet. That happens in India that way Arjun T. is ahead of many U-14 selected. As you mentioned "apart from...." is his biggest asset.

Hi ashu, I love Sachin Tendulkar. He was not only a cricketer way above the rest of the players but despite his fame and money he earned, he never let it go to his head. He was as humble as anyone can be. This showed his greatness. As far as his son is concerend then I wish him all the best and may he be better than this dad. But I do not think Sachin can play International cricket till he comes to party.

Hi asweetie, yes Sachin is not only a great cricketer but a greatest human being. All of us adore him. Some have also gone a step further and given him the status of "GOD". But I don't know why you are referring him as "He was...". Remember, he is not finished. He is still "present".

Hi Ashu, Sachin is already nearly 40 and he doesnt have body to keep playing the international level crocket any more. There are still many years for Arjun to join Indian team if he ever does. Remember none of the great players of cricket has produced son who has surpassed him, so Tendulkar should play till he can give something to team and not till he becomes a burden on team.

Yes I do agree, he should continue only till he does not become a burden to his team to which, Sachin will also agree. But I think this will be taken care by the selectors. Now, Kapil Dev formally retired from test cricket at the age of 45. Thus, technically Sachin has around 5-6 years of Cricket left in him in the Indian context. Sachin made debut in test cricket when he was 15 years of age and so can his son.

I wish he could have stayed for such a long time. It would be wonderful for Indian cricket but sadly I do not think he can last that long. I am not worried about his lean patch but I am worried about his body. He has been playing for nearly 24 years now and he has many health problems. I do not think he would be able to play more than 2 seasons of cricket.

Hi Anshu Sachin is already having a lean patch ,his son is only 14 and by the time he come to ranji team sachin won't be there .I think there is no need for sachin to be in team in order to bring his son up with out his presence also he can do it .His son has to show some signs of good cricket that's all .

Yes, true Sachin is having a lean patch, but like always, everybody is hoping that he will bounce back stronger. He has done this in the past.
