Save the earth from Global warming.

India

I recently watched a video in which an American leader talked about the global warming. He told that if the trend of increasing the global remains same, then many places on this earth will submerge under water in the current century itself. The places like Manhattan in USA, Kolkata/Calcutta and Mumbai in India, Japan, some part of South Korea etc will be no more in this world. There will be huge number of population which will move to other parts of world, and it can result in another world war also, because people will have to fight for the places. It is the global warming which is more serious world problem than the terrorism. What do you think about it and tell me what you can do to save the earth from global warming?

Hi Sanjay. I had to respond to this there is no such thing as global warming go liste to this teacher of Gods word and hear the truth. http://www.shepherdschapel.com/index.htm It says in Gods word there will always be warm and there will always be cold. This global warming thing is just another way to make money. Thanks for the giggle this morning needed it.

sure we are supposed to be stewards of this earth while we are here. I believe in God there is only one God. Go listen to that site and hear what he has to say about this global warming. You might be surprised to hear the things we all have been taught the wrong way. As stewarts of this earth we shouldn't litter either but I have seen many that do and it makes my heart ache from what they do to our home lands.

I will listen to the site, because I am open-minded, but I have to say no matter what is said I doubt it will change my view that we are responsible for our planet and should take care of it, not contribute to its problems. I agree that littering is awful, and I have taught my own children to never litter. In fact, we have participated in many neighborhood and other clean-up projects to help undo others' carelessness. Every little effort helps protect our planet.

I don't know what God you believe in, but if you are referring to the one that is at the core of Christianity, Judaism, and Islam, then it is part of the teachings of all three religions that humans are supposed to be the "stewards" of this planet, which means we have a responsibility to take care of it wisely and carefully. In fact, I am pretty sure that is a central tenet of all of the world's major religions. To believe otherwise is to go against the teachings of Jesus, Mohammed, Moses, Buddha, Confucius, and all of the world's prophets.

I visited Australia and was told about a hole over the ozone layer. I know there I had to cover my skin with clothing and suncream. I met some people that had skin cancer. I was aged 20 to 21 years old then. When I was aged 29 years old I visited New Zealand. I found even on a dull day I could get sunburned. I had to make sure I had a good suncream on every single day there. Even if a day got a sunny spell for twenty minutes the covering up was essential. I think the governments around the world can have green policies to help not get more global warming. I believe that short haul flights should be stopped and people could get better local transport that is very cheap. Of course long haul flights to far away places would still have to be in operation. Ships should become popular again with very cheap prices. I visited the Maldives in 2005 and it would go underwater if sea levels rise any further. Terrorism is also a severe problem in some parts of the world.

I have studied in the chemistry that it is the CFCs(Chloro-fluoro- carbos) which are responsible for the depletion of the ozone layers. I did a little research and found that it was the year 1980 when the ozone hole in the Antarctica region was reported. It is not a big hole but a few percent of the layer is depleted. Indonesia and Australia are the near by countries so what you felt there was real. The reason that the ozone at the Antarctica is attacked first, is this that all the hot winds they travel from the hot place to the cold place. So all the winds carrying the pollutes run from other warts to the northern and southern poles. Ozone layer prevents the Ultra violet rays, which if allowed can cause the skin cancer. However the cancer cases in the Australia and Indonesia are not reported to be linked directly to the depletion of the Ozone. Okay now you said that you visited the Maldives in the year 2005, how do you find it? Was your purpose fulfilled or not?

I want a little more explanation about the one more thing you wrote about. You said that we have to use the water ways instead of the short flights. How is it going to help, please explain a little more.

Global warming? Hmmmm... if global warming occur then there would be no peace here on earth because like you said, people would fight for the places. Anyway, if people will join forces and help one another by planting trees to have a green planet then, the earth would be saved. The reason why we had this global warming is because of the people too. Some people don't know how to take good care our mother earth.

That is great idea, planting the trees is a good thing, but not cutting them un-necessary is also a good thing to do, and I am sure you don't do that.

Every time you buy a piece of furniture made out of wood, every time you re-decorate your house, every time you waste sheets and sheets of paper, you are directly contributing to the loss of trees in the world. The fact that humans squander their natural resources so carelessly is at least contributing to, if not causing, global warming. The same is true with wasting water, using myriad products made out of plastic (made from petroleum) buying cars with low gas mileage, etc. The list goes on and on. While governments waste time arguing over what can be done to slow global warming without affecting business interests, everyday people can change their lifestyles to take better care of our natural resources. It certainly won't solve the problem, but every little bit helps.

I agree to you Madam, there is a long list which we can do everyday and help in saving the nature. Smoking is also a part of that list. I have seen that there are very few males in this world who don't smoke. It is very serious issue.

Well with atitude what some people have we cant do anything. But we have to change now or the earth will change us.. but it will be too late.

That was a good one, change or the earth will change. I think the list given by the friend in the previous response is very good, one should follow it. One should calculate it in the mind that what I am doing is not going to harm the nature.

I don't believe there's any way we can stop global warming. It's just a fact of life and we have to live with it. I do believe that it's the reason for the weather changes we've been having.

I was in a class last semester that was called Intro to Sustainability and it was all about living life in a way that doesn't destroy our planet or waste our resources. This way of life is going to become increasingly more important as time goes on because as our development has enhanced so has our output of waste and our usage of nonrenewable resources. The problem is that more countries are becoming higher developed and there are more cars and other energy drainers being brought into the world daily. Our usage of energy, fossil fuels, and other sources of toxic waste to our planet is becoming more and more a part of our everyday life. The problems that we will face with global warming are going to be astronomical and we are already starting to see some of the effects. This is why we are seeing monsoons and tidal waves causing horrible natural disasters. The global temperature has already begun to rise and I have even been able to tell in my hometown by how varied the snowfall is here now. We all need to make efforts at reducing, reusing and recycling and we need to push more towards alternative energy and sustainability. We can only live off of nonrenewable resources for so long and continue to do damage at a rate faster tahn we can repair for so long.

That is the main think that is required everywhere. you are aware about the sustainability so you understand its importance. I think it helps you with doing the everyday activities in more fruitful manner for you and for this nature also. sustainability is the demand of today. Governments are doing their work, but it is required to take action by the public also. Some are doing it, but if all do then it will be more easy.

i think we can't stop global warming but we can reduce of global warming because we are as human lots of activity that will impacted to global warming, but with all our activities we can do something different to reduce global warming.

That is right, we can ban the smoking, plastic, and also control the population where it is rising as a problem, by starting from myself.

series of unfortunate events are cause of abusive use our natural resources. whatever people do to our nature, it will return the favor to the people. Basically, we should start what we can practically contribute such as lessen our garbage, lessen the use of chemicals, save energy and other things that we can do to minimize the pollution in our own little way.
• India

I agree to you Sir, there are some ways by which we can make the energy use a little less. Many times the energy is wasted at the houses when no body is using it. It should be avoided. The carbon emission from the kitchen cooking, can be reduced if we use the electrical induction cookers, or solar cookers etc. Houses should be designed to get the maximum efficiency of the energy resources.

I think Global Warming is very serious problem to anybody in the world. For all of human in this earth must contribute to save this earth like don't use plastic bag too much, don't use ac, tv, electric too much. If don't use light in the morning then turn off the light. I think global warming is different with terrorism? why? because terrorism is effect to us directly like we get attact by a bomb. But Global Warming not effect to us directly but will effect to our children or grand grand children later, its a long side effect. So take action now to save this world together

Often such discussions about global warming end up in some highly technical discussions among highly qualified people. The discussion and the solutions must reach the common people and when they act according to the instructions given to them maybe it could be prevented to some extent. Awareness must be created among people, including school and college students. Maybe there are solutions to prevent this rising problem.

I think it is my and your responsibility to do that. It is everyone's responsibility. It is everyone who can contribute to it. Make a list of the things in my mind and act, which we can do to help.

This modernization cost too much and one of the main causes of this global warming. People are destroying our natural resources trying to replace with man-made creations. Cutting down trees, flattening the mountains to build tall buildings, subdivision and other infrastructure- to compensate human's greediness and illusion. As long as greed lives in the heart of everyone- the earth we live in will slowly kill the humankind and all existing life.

What ? you mentioned are all serious problems. Terrorism, Global Warming, these are all serious matters. Global Warming is a product of Ozone Layers destruction in space. As a result rays of the sun enter the Earth and melts our mountain of ice into water. Since the Earth is made up of 75 % of water in the form of solid like ice and liquid as water so then the melting of solid ice to liquid form, made possible of the overflowing of rivers seas and oceans. The best way to do is to start planting more trees to help hold the waters and stop the destruction of Ozone Layers. All nations must unite and seek solution of how to repair the Ozone Layer. Terrorism also contributed a lot, only not directly, but on making things impossible for us to think the right solution in solving Global Warming.

I'm sure it's true that as people we are contributing to global warming, but when you look at how the dinosaurs were wiped out by climate change way before people had such a large footprint, it makes me think that nature itself is the main cause of it
